A real gem of a place. First time visitors. Lunch menu was good and very on the ball with their allergen information. I had scampi and chips, very plentiful and the scampi was beautiful. Husband had a flat bread with rump steak, beautifully presented and delicious. The onion rings were like cart wheels! Reasonable priced, cosy atmosphere and really friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Great warm welcome, from the land lord, and land lady (Lee & Carol) with great atmosphere, and lovely surroundings. ||Good selections of beers, wines and spirits.||The food is good quality "home cooked" by the family, at competitive prices, with a changing specials board.||Thoroughly recommend the Gnu, possibly best to book evenings and weekends.||Thankyou team "Gnu"

Just spent 2 fantastic night's at this great venue for my partners birthday staff and customers are all amazing the food is out of this world and room was very clean bigger then we thought would highly recommend

The owners gave us a very warm welcome after a long day's walk. They couldn't have been more helpful or hospitable. Fantastic, spacious room with all facilities. Lovely pub with great beer options. Good breakfast. Even though we were there on closed kitchen night they were so helpful in arranging a take away for us. They went above and beyond with this and making is feel welcome.
Would recommend to anyone, especially walkers of the Yorkshire wolds way.

A little gem!
We had the Sunday lunch with the desert. £19 for two courses: bargain!
All home cooked, ample portions and all very tasty.
Good price and probably the best we've had and have tried a number of places.
We will be back. Thank you!

We had a great stay at the Gnu Inn. After a long and wet day's walking on the Yorkshire Wolds Way we were given a very warm welcome, a nice comfy room, a really good dinner and a delicious breakfast. And very reasonable too. I would highly recommend the Gnu (oh, and the beer was great as well).

The Gnu is a nice cosy village pub and hotel. There is a good choice of beers lager and cider including two hand pulled cask conditioned real ales which were very nice when i visited. There is a bar with a dartboard and a separate lounge. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The pub has a good reputation for the food although i haven't tried it yet. There is a nice covered outside seating area and a customer car park. The pub is dog friendly.
