The venue itself is beautiful. I stayed for 2 nights as part of a wedding party. The first night was the bridal getting ready room which was beautiful and a perfect space to get ready on your wedding day!||We stayed during June and on what seemed to be the hottest day of the month. The issue we found was how poor the hotel was setup for hot weather. No aircon due to being a listed building which is understandable however I would advise investing in some industrial fans for the main areas of the hotel/ function room as it became unbearable at times. ||The second night I stayed in a standard room upstairs (room 21) the room was basic and seemed like it was in need off some TLC. One of the showers heads didn’t work. The fan in the room was tiny so did nothing to help with the heat. I feel like the price of the room for one night was very expensive for the standard that it was. ||Overall the hotel is lovely but could do with a freshen up in the upstairs rooms at the very least. Staff were brilliant.

Upon arrival to the Croft, I was informed by the woman at the check-in desk that our room had been made available early as I am eight months pregnant, this was wonderful service and made a large impact as I was attending a wedding at the Croft and was able to rest during the day. This made us feel welcomed and valued. I further want to mention the member of the housekeeping service, unfortunately I didn’t catch her name, who gave us two fans for our room which contributed to the best night sleep I’ve had in seven months. She was tall thin and had dark brown hair. when we were speaking to her, she was cleaning the room opposite room 21, I hope this means that you can work out who she is and give her the compliments she deserves.

Lovely food and the staff are always so helpful. Being vegan and gluten free I am not always easy to feed but The Croft do the most amazing Sunday vegetable dinner and gravy...truly delicious. We were served by the lovely Amy today who went the extra mile to check on my dietary requirements. I also wanted to say how nice the lady on reception was. We arrived as a wedding party was gathering and were about to leave but she guided us to the restaurant and she was so welcoming.

Reception was never 'manned'. At check-in I was waiting while I could hear chattering out the back. When I was served after another guest waiting to check-in also, the reception process was poor. No offering of information on Dinner or where Breakfast was. Was shown the WiFi code but was not told it was incorrect, which was known by staff. I approached reception 4 times during my stay and every time there was nobody there. I had to search for a member of staff and on check-out, I give up searching. Other hotels have a 'manned' reception or a bell at least. Key Card was very poor quality. It had to be reset twice and the excuse it must have been in your wallet near other cards. Well even Premier Inn cards are not affected by this as I always keep them in the same place. Just a poor quality card. I revert back to Premier Inn and Hardwick Hall for that matter who have fans in the room without having to ask. No such facility in this room. Bedside light switch not working or bulb out, not sure which. Key card holder on wall was damaged so kept coming away at one side. Door lock would not go all the way to the locked position. While the bed was comfortable and room clean, all of the other points have ensured I would not book again. I did not have the time to chase around the hotel looking for staff and could not even get an invoice as I had not time to look for receptionists on check-out. Aesthetics of the hotel do not make up for the basics being poor.

Amazing hotel|Arrived with family on a really hot day, the hotel had the windows open and fans on in our room ready for our arrival ensuring the rooms were as cool as possible.||Part of our package was a delicious afternoon tea. Lovely selection of sandwiches, artisan sausage rolls and gorgeous cakes.||The bar staff made us amazing cocktails and the chef did us proud with the fantastic food at dinner on the evening including the best fish and chips I have had in years.||Friendly attentive staff despite a busy wedding being on during our visit.

Beautiful venue, we had our wedding here and we cannot fault the staff and the service we received! Everything was perfect, and the atmosphere was amazing! We had an incredible time at the Croft Hotel surprising at a surprise 30th Birthday party last month, so much fun as we surprised with the help of the Events Team at the hotel. We had such a warm welcome, the food was absolutely delicious (and we ate and were in the kitchen as well seeing it plated up). Amazing F&B staff and so much fun to plot with for our surprise. Thank you so much for having us and we cannot wait to be back soon with you all.

We had a very comfortable stay in this fairly small hotel in the hamlet of Croft on Tees. A car is essential as there is nothing close by except a pub over the nearby bridge.
The hotel is very clean and staff were both very friendly and helpful. There is a wide staircase leading to the bedrooms and I'm not sure if there is a lift. Perhaps not suitable for people with mobility issues. A phone call to check would be advisable.
