Mary and John care for their guests and took very well care of us, which is always important. The room, although certainly not the most modern, was well working (incuding the wifi) and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great and we felt the home atmosphere. |this is a „farm b&b“, so be prepared that is smells like a farm some times. We like that, though. The farm is in fully operation like it should be and that adds to the atmosphere. Be also aware that you have to walk a bit on the busy A167 and that there is no eateries or anything else around. Howver, Mary made us a great salad for dinner. So, it you like living on a farm with great people, this is for you.

It was such a positive experience staying with Mary and John at Lovesome Hill Farm on our way through Northallerton. We were walking the C2C and about 4 miles before we reached the farm, a local woman asked where we were staying. When we told her she told us that Mary had a reputation for her prize winning marmalade and we were in for a treat with her cooking. She wasn’t wrong. The meals Mary prepared for us were delicious and the hospitality offered by her and John was first class. Their home is beautiful and set amongst a lovely garden where we enjoyed afternoon tea prepared by Mary. |Highly recommended place to stay if you are looking for quality and old fashioned farm hospitality.

Spent the night here after 2 days of very wet C2C walking. Nice lounge come kitchen and good bunk house bedroom. Managed to dry out everything so not only was it comfortable but set me up for the next day. I also paid for the optional full English which was very good. This is ideal bunk house accommodation on the C2C. It is also a B&B of you want that.

I stayed here with my family whilst undertaking the Coast to Coast route. It's a great place to stay. Mary and John are very friendly and welcoming, we really appreciated their hospitality. Lovely views, tranquil setting, and wholesome food. Highly recommended.

Farmer John and his lovely wife Mary operates this gorgeus B&B in a working farm. The place is amazing! The rooms (we stayed at Grand Oak and Grand Mill for our party of 6) and sheets are spotlessly clean. And the rooms are so well sound proof that we couldn't hear the animals at all. The water pressure in the bathroom is great and the bathrooms are so spacious. Breakfast is prepared by Mary and the potions are generous and absolutely delicious. John even kindly gave the kids a tour of his farm. They were totally amazed by the collection of pigs and cattle. He even allowed my girl to help collect the eggs from the hens. Overall, the b&b is a great place to stay if you are looking for a true farm stay experience. The gardens are gorgeous and overall its very relaxing. Parking space is ample on site and it's a good base to visit the neighboring towns. Mary and John even have a catalogue of recommendations of places to go and places to eat in each room. Very sweet and thoughtful of them. Fantastic hosts!

Me and my partner stayed at the Lovesome Hill Cottage and can’t thank Mary enough for her hospitality and the time we had. Beautiful cottage and the hot tub was a great bonus to our stay. The cottage was self catering and had great facilities within the kitchen plus Mary is so accommodating and always on hand. The location of the cottage was excellent for visiting and lots of things to see and do. Would definitely stay again!

We were very fortune to be able to book at short notice to stay at Mary and Johns farm. The current pandemic didn’t affect things which was great and they took all the precautions as should be done. Greeted with happiness from Mary she took all 7 of us temperatures and spoke about the farm. A lovely farm with a beautiful set of grounds. The rooms we stayed in were just perfect for our little clan of 5 kids and 2 adults and were very clean. You could barely tell it was a farm noise wise. Both were on hand if we had to ask anything and the breakfasts for our two nights stay was perfec. We then had lovely tour around the farm on our last morning which the kids loved. Only downside and nothing to do with John and Mary is that due to the current restrictions trying to book/find somewhere to eat is very difficult. A lot of pubs didn’t answer their phones or were full but we did manage to eat both evenings so if you haven’t stayed somewhere since the relaxing of restrictions plan as far ahead as you can. Lots of local facilities/attractions. ||Job well done and a massive thank you to John and Mary. The kids loved every second and we would happily stay again.

I was doing the Coast to Coast walk when I stayed here. It is was lovely to sit in the garden with a cup of tea and a homemade biscuit after a long day walking. I had an evening meal, which was an excellent homecooked ham (and breadsauce). After a good nights nights sleep in a very comfy bed and a hearty breakfast I was recharged and ready to face another day of walking. Mary and John are charming hosts who could not have made me feel more welcome.
