Staying here is like staying at your aunt’s house. Jill made us feel like family right away. Our attic room was small, but very cozy and was one of our favorite rooms on our entire trek. Its dormer window had a great view of the keep of Richmond castle. The other room overlooks the falls on the Swale, but is a bit smaller than our castle view room. The bed was very comfortable, and as Richmond was a two night stay for us, the room was a wonderful refuge for rest.||||The location couldn’t be better. It’s less than a two minute walk to the castle and town center, but far enough from it so you don’t hear the noise. And its view of the falls is amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio, drinking wine and reading books while watching families enjoy the falls.||||Breakfast was delicious, and Jill was delightful company. We would definitely stay here again.||||A note if you have trouble walking or getting around: the road between the town and River View is somewhat steep, and the rooms are at the top of a couple of flights of stairs. But for us…perfection!

From the moment we arrived, (after an 8 hour drive), we were made to feel welcome at River View. Unfortunately, we didn't get a view of the river, but we did get a great view of the Castle instead. Our hosts were very informative of the best places to eat and we had a lovely home cooked breakfast in the morning. We will definitely be coming here again and I would not hesitate to recommend it to other travellers.

Throughout my coast to coast walk this has been the best place I've stayed. Not only a very good location, it's presumably the budget friendliest in the town.|I even stayed two nights because I didn't want to leave. The couple was so friendly and she made really nice breakfast. They do everything to make it as comfortable as possible. The little attic where I stayed in was really charming and cozy. |The second night they invited me for dinner as her brother came over and it was lovely. There should be more people like this in the world. |Hope to stay there again one day.|I really hope to.

I stayed here in June 2015 on my Coast-to-Coast trek. The owners were just lovely; very friendly, welcoming and hospitable, and nothing was too much trouble. Great location - close enough to the centre of town but not so close that you get noise from pub patrons, etc, on a Saturday night. It was quiet and I slept well, despite the old droopy mattress. A little less dust and chintzy clutter would improve things.

Went to Richmond for a night out with family and stayed in this very quaint B&B the rooms are in the attic of a house owned by a lovely couple, although on the small side it was very cosy . One room has lovely views of the castle and the other has fab views of the river |Breakfast was lovely and they made you feel like you were family nothing was to much trouble and the views from the garden just off the breakfast room were amazing can imagine sitting out there in the summer with a glass of wine |Richmond is a must to visit lovely historical town with some great old traditional pubs just like they should be |Would definitely come to Richmond again and would recommend the river view |Thanks for having us x

Lovely and comfortable, first class hosts very welcoming, great breakfast, yes the rooms are small as mentioned but in the end the are for sleeping in and view was lovely of castle. Garden has views over the river with nice sitting out area

A very welcoming B and B with great views of the weir on the River Swale from the attic room and across the country side.
Very welcoming owners and nothing any trouble for them.
Good food and aa great view from the terrace.
Only grumble, too many stairs from the attic the breakfast room. Also low roof in attic a problem.

I admit the room is small but the affability of the hosts and the great location still made this a perfect choice. So much to see and do in Richmond we spent little time in our room other than to sleep. We could holiday while the hosts did our laundry, cooked for us and made wonderful suggestions for activities and food. Thank you.
