We had a wonderful weekend stay at 66 Frenchgate for my 60th Birthday!|We were greeted warmly by Rachel who showed us to our room.||Room 4 had the most fabulous views made even more fabulous by the snow which had fallen before we arrived. The room was warm, cosy, very clean and very nicely decorated and had the most comfortable bed. Rachel brought us fresh milk for tea and 2 mince pies which were much appreciated.||Breakfast is ordered the evening before with lots of choice. Breakfast is served in a very light and airy room with views as far as the eye can see, a perfect start to the day. Breakfast is delicious and nicely cooked.| |The hosts Rachel and Mick are so lovely and nice to chat to, talked about all sorts of things over breakfast! Very knowledgeable of the area and gave us tips on where to visit. Even found a birthday card and chocolates on the bed when we came back from our day discovering Richmond.||Richmond is a wonderful place to visit with lots to see and do. We would recommend visiting and would very highly recommend 66 Frenchgate.||Ecky thump, thank you Rachel and Mick for making my birthday weekend a special one!|

We arrived at this beautiful B&B in lovely Richmond as part of our coast to coast tour. It is impeccable and a beautiful place to stay. Our hosts were lovely, chatty and could not do more for us. I had to stay for a little after check out due to an injury and they were happy to look after me. A particular highlight is the breakfast room with some of the best breakfast views I have ever seen! Lots to do in Richmond and this seems to me to be the place to stay!

What a lovely place to stay. We received a very warm welcome from Rachel and given key to room 4. Stunning views across the valley and lovely to wake up to that. We decided to have a cheeky overnighter in Richmond and I’m so pleased we stayed at 66 Frenchgate. Our room was immaculate and spacious, tea coffee making facilities, plenty of fresh clean towels in bathroom and the most comfortable bed. Slept like logs then had a tasty filling breakfast of our choice. Very well located in quiet are but couple mins walk to market square and Rachel was very helpful about local places of interest for us to visit. Richmond itself is a lovely place to visit with museums, the castle and some great eating and dining options. We will return and of course choose 66 Frenchgate again. This was by far our favourite stop to date on our Coast2 Coast hike across the UK. Mick and Rachel were the most welcoming & warm hosts. Their hospitality was only surpassed by the incredible rooms and views at Frenchgate. From the spacious rooms with spectacular views of Richmond, lovely and substantial breakfast selection enjoyed in the conservatory again with spectacular views and their attentive care of every detail. Rachel even made dinner recommendations for us and then booked us a table and we enjoyed a fabulous Thai meal in town to boot. ||I cannot recommend Frenchgate Guesthouse more highly. By far a highlight of our hike across the UK. Mick and Rachel thank you very much ❤️

Frenchgate Guest House occupies a privileged position overlooking Richmond and the Swale valley. The views are indeed lovely as others have noted. The view from our room was spectacular, and the view from the breakfast room is equally lovely. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. We stayed here on the Coast to Coast and very much regretted not having an extra day to noodle around town (as many of our fellow walkers did). We will know better next time. Rachel and Mick are fun and engaging hosts who made us feel welcome and well cared for.
