Always love coming back to Wolds Edge for a weeks holiday. I feel like its our second home as we know what to expect and that's a lovely welcome from Ruth and her team, peace and quiet and a perfect setting for all the lodges which are comfortable with everything you need. It all is perfect. There is also a well stocked community shop in Bishop Wilton. The area has wonderful walking from the door into some lonely Wolds where you might see another person. Lots of places to visit too , we recommend Breezy Knees gardens but most of our week was spent walking and soaking up the tranquility. For food, you can't beat the hospitality, customer service and food at The Wolds Inn at Huggate, amazing especially the Sunday roast, Chinese on a Wednesday and steak night on a Thursday. There is also a lovely tearoom in Huggate as well. Already booked our 2026 week away.

Our second stay at the tree Lodge...always a warm welcome.The Lodge is 5 star...high level of cleanliness,safety and service.
A great jacuzzi which is cleaned twice a day.
Lovely walks from the doorstep for all levels...we also used our fold down electric bikes and found the country roads safe and enjoyable.
Steve the Lodge custodian is exceptional...always on hand to provide requirements and a good northern humour.
We will miss Walter...the squirrel who visited us regularly and Wilhomina...the pheasant..who loved our cornflakes..and of course the three roaming chickens .
I'm sure you'll see us again...we had a wonderful stay.Have already recommended you to people we meet on our travels.

We chose this tree house to stay somewhere secluded and peaceful for our first wedding anniversary and it was the best choice. The Tree House was compact but fully equipped with a comfortable bed, huge TV, shower room and kitchen area as well as a decking area with a hot tub and table. We went for the romantic package and had rose petals and fizz and Bishop Wilton’s Community Shop chocolates (absolutely fabulous) and an amazing Breakfast hamper. We managed lots of breakfasts out of this with extremely fresh eggs (laid on site) best quality bacon sausage mushrooms and tomatoes. Bishops Wilton is off the beaten track and has real charm. It has a pub , The Fleece Inn (we ate here once for dinner which was lovely and good choice of drinks). There is a very good bus route to nearby towns and we visited York on the bus which was a novelty for us. I would say this place is idyllic and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Just had an amazing weekend at Wolds Edge. Stayed in one of the romantic lodges. Clean, immaculately well presented, very good sized hot tub. I recommend the breakfast package as well, well worth the extra money. The lodge had everything and more. We loved it and can not wait to return. ||On the doorstop is a picturesque village, with a pub, community shop, and the countrysides rolling hills. ||I give Wolds Edge 10/10

Wolds Edge Holiday Lodges are in a peaceful and tranquil corner of the idyllic village of Bishop Wilton. We stayed in the Kingfisher Lodge which was modern, spotless and very private. Ruth met us when we arrived and was very helpful with suggestions with places to visit. We spent a pleasant day visiting the local village of Pocklington followed by a wander around Burnby Hall Gardens. We will definitely go back.

We recently stayed at Wolds Edge, in The Treehouse, and had a wonderful time. It's an incredibly peaceful place, with easy access to York and the surrounding villages. The Treehouse itself was a great place to stay - it was very clean, the bed was super comfy and being able to jump into a hot tub after a long walk was incredible! We'll definitely be going back!

We stayed in the treehouse. It was a beautiful spot with plenty of privacy. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The village is only a short walk with a pub that serves food and a small village shop. It's a great base to access North Yorkshire and beyond. Would definitely stay again.
