I’m genuinely staggered by some of the negative comments that I’ve read. ||We had a five day stay and chose it because it was dog friendly. The opportunity to take our dog into a couple of the public areas was essential for us.||Our room was comfortable - and the staff promptly provided a really good Dyson fan as it was a bit warm for our Scottish blood!!||Staff throughout were really helpful and friendly. ||Highlight was the food. The halibut and monkfish dishes were brilliant - the crab bisque served with the halibut was stunning.

Just home from a stay at saltmoore in a beach house room . The room was lovely really well equipped , the balcony furniture wasn’t great not comfortable. Metal table and chairs .|The beach house feels very much out on a limb , no breakfast service and only a very limited bar offering . It wouldn’t be difficult to offer a continental breakfast there .|There are lots of seating areas and tables and chairs but not a single guest in sight |We went up to the main hotel bar for drinks , I felt even there the drinks menu was limited and service slow . |We didn’t eat at the hotel as read number of negative reviews , instead ventured to The Fish Cottage and Mary’s in sandsend both of which outstanding.

Saltmoore is the most breathtaking hotel we’ve ever stayed at and we already can’t wait to come back. We stayed in the superior king room which I would highly recommend. The little touches such as arrival drinks and fresh cookies in our room were brilliant and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We used the spa facilities which were very relaxing and the gardens are beautiful at all times of the day. Breakfast had a great selection and we also dined in the restaurant on the evening. I would say the restaurant was overpriced for what it is, the food was delicious but the price of the vegan burger was above what I’d expect to pay. If you’re thinking of booking a stay at Saltmoore I would definitely recommend, make sure you take a visit to the local beaches too.

Just returned home from the most amazing 2 night stay at saltmoore. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the perfect location for a walk into Sandsend. Katie who works in the spa brasserie was so lovely and couldn’t have done anymore for us. (Thank you for keeping us supplied with wine!) We look forward to our next visit ☺️

Absolutely unforgettable stay!
This hotel is stunning - every part of our visit felt special. We stayed in the Beach House in a gorgeous room with a private outdoor bath. Dinner at the Brasserie was delicious, and being chauffeured there and back by golf caddy was such a fun touch. The service throughout was flawless. We loved relaxing with drinks and a game of checkers in the games room, then ended the night with wine in the bath. The next morning, we enjoyed the peaceful, spotlessly clean spa before an excellent breakfast. Can’t wait to come back!

Had a wonderful stay with both child and fur baby. Lovely to have a proper family holiday with our dog, he was very welcomed with a lovely bed, bowls and own little garden and he loved the standing mirror!
Child loved the pool and set in a beautiful location.
We have booked to go again

Beautiful hotel just outside of Whitby. The food is incredible and the rooms are stylish and very comfortable. The spa is excellent - the sauna in particular is perfection!

Our family stayed for two nights at Saltmoore for my partners birthday. The hotel itself is beautiful, set within picturesque grounds with carefully curated decor and style.

However, during the stay we experienced multiple issues that impacted our stay. Our parents stayed with two dogs in one of cottages (404) and had a severe issue with the door locking system, in which the main room door opened without their knowledge in the middle of the night on both days, causing their dogs to rush downstairs and into the main courtyard. In a panic and rushing outside, one has suffered injury to shin and leg. Reception stated the door lock was faulty and would be fixed upon leaving but made no effort to rectify or offer any form of service recovery.

Moreover, we booked Sunday lunch in The Orangery but were seated in the main restaurant with no other diners, nor atmosphere. Upon asking to be reseated in the orangery, if something became available, the server decided to roll his eyes at our polite request.

All of these issues were compensated with £100 off, a mere 8% of the total bill. Also not acceptable in my personal opinion. As someone who manages a large scale customer operation within the hospitality industry, I believe the overall service requires a more detailed and refined approach.
