Susan is a brilliant host. Great communication with her beforehand meant we arrived early to drop off our luggage, as we were attending a wedding nearby at Tupgill Park - next to Forbidden Corner. |As soon as we arrived, Susan advised she had got our room ready early so we could get changed and freshen up before going off to the wedding. ||Breakasts were freshly cooked to order each morning with a lovely choice of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt to complement our hot breakfast. Room 1 at the front was very spacious with a king size bed with a separate curtained off area, with a single bed and a large en-suite bathroom. The bath sheets were the largest we've ever had anywhere! The view from the room was lovely (although this picture shows low cloud on the far hills - which cleared an hour later!). ||Leyburn and the surrounding areas are lovely, we stumbled upon a vintage car, tractor and motor bike show in Bainbridge, as well as a visit to the Wensleydale Creamery and local Chocolate Factory. ||Be aware however, that there wasn't much open on the Sunday evening for meals. Pubs and restaurants tend to only serve Sunday lunch until a certain time, so we were struggling for somewhere to eat on the evening. Susan came to the rescue though with a lovely recommendation near Middleham - The Cover Bridge Inn which served home cooked food until 9 pm on Sundays! Would not have been our first choice to eat, but it turned out to be a little gem - great food and atmosphere with a lovely history going back to the 1600's!||There are lots of things to do and see in the area, all within a fairly good distance. We only wish we had booked more time to explore. I'm sure we'll be returning!

Amazing hospitality, lovely food and beautiful countryside. Our second stay there and, hopefully, not our last.

We stayed at this fabulous place for a stone wall building course. It’s a beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean B&B. The rooms were large and airy, the bed was comfortable and had top quality linen on it. Good bathroom with luxury towels and a top notch breakfast in the morning served by Sue who was just the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble for her, she was very knowledgable about the people and the area. We will definitely stay at this place again. We had a great weekend!

Never disappoints. Superb b&b. Its a must to stay. Nothing any trouble. Cosy, immaculate place to stay. Although the weather was cold and wintry we were greeted with a warm welcome all around. Thanks Sue, see you next year.

Greenhills was booked for us by a friend and it was a fantastic choice. ||||We were welcomed on arrival by Sue who made us very welcome. The room was excellent, with beautiful views. We had a king size bed with no footboard which is good for my tall husband. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable. The room was very large with comfortable armchairs and through an archway was an extension which contained a single bed and a dressing table. Just through this part was the good sized en-suite. Everything was spotless and the décor was very tasteful. The wifi actually worked, unlike some establishments we have stayed at. We were given a choice of time for breakfast which was beautifully cooked. ||||I can't speak highly enough of Greenhills and would certainly stay there again when visiting the area and will happily recommend it to others.

Very comfortable guest house. Welcoming, warm, lovely hosts. Slept like a log, the first time in ages when I have not woken up during the night. Really attractive accommodation and filling breakfast. Brilliant value for money. Convenient to Leyburn, and the bus from Ripon stops opposite the property. I had a lovely stay and will definitely stay again when in the area.

After reading such positive reviews I was very keen to try this B&B. The photos gave a good impression. I made several attempts to book but there were no vacancies. I was so excited when everything appeared to align and there was a vacancy on my planned travel date. |I found the drive a little awkward to manoeuvre in upon arrival. |My mother and I were welcomed by the hostess Susan.|The house did not feel like a B&B, just someone letting a room out, but apart from lacking atmosphere this did not affect me. |The bedroom was light and large. I was very impressed with the sizes of the two beds. A wonderful first impression, sadly to soon be ruined. I had to go rooting for sockets to charge devices and was disgusted by the amount of dust and dirt around the skirting board and room edges. I would have walked out had the bed sheets been in any way similar. However, the bed sheets were spanking clean.|There were tea and coffee facilities, but after making a tea and a coffee my mother and I could not drink them as they had a strange taste. After two attempts we gave up. We decided it was either the kettle perhaps having not been used for a while (even though we had swished it out or the water. We were also out of the little plastic milk pots, which I have not seen in a while as many B&Bs now offer a jug of fresh milk which is filled ready or you can help yourself from a communal fridge/asking the hosts. Such a waste of plastic and at least three are needed for a decent brew.|It was difficult to get the correct temperature in the room. It was very cold one moment and roasting the next. The view, however, was stunning. |The towels were clean, soft and fluffy. I did not shower as I had a bath instead, I could tell that a shower would have been disappointing, especially after hearing Susan give instructions on how to use it and it’s foibles. |The little attentions to detail were missing, which again made the establishment more of just a room in someone’s house rather than a B&B. |The beds were extremely uncomfortable and lumpy. The pillows were flat and lumpy, very poor quality. There were far too many layers of bedding, which had to be discarded, but I was aware how dirty the floor had been. If you do stay, top tip: pull the flat sheet out all around the bed before getting in, as it is so tight you have no chance of kicking it out. |The road was noisy and affected our sleep. |After a bad uncomfortable night of barely any sleep, I was looking forward to a good breakfast. There was a wide range of cereals and some fresh fruits. I ordered the full English. My mother fried egg on toast. To say disappointed would be an understatement. The portion was small one rasher of bacon, one sausage, but it would have been sufficient. The mushrooms were not sliced and fried until brown and slightly crisp, they were whole or halves cooked how I remember them in Little Chefs, looking like little slugs. The sausage tasted like a cheap supermarket one. The bacon was inedible, it had the strangest taste along with grease, lots of grease. I could not eat it. The egg was overdone below but not cooked on top with a layer of slime around the hard yolk, my mothers was the same. The orange juice was not fresh and again the dining room was completely lacking in atmosphere. Susan picked up on the fact I clearly had not enjoyed my breakfast, but rather than simply apologise, stated she had just been eating the bacon and talking about how nice it was with her husband (who we never met or saw). I was made to feel it was something wrong with me. Perhaps everything needed a good spring clean? An hour later I had a bacon sandwich elsewhere which was phenomenal, so it was not my taste buds. The previous evening I again had a wonderful flavoursome meal. |I was not happy by the level of hosting provided. I did not like the way I was told to fill a form in (which I do not believe is required, requesting my passport number amongst other details I was not happy sharing). I did not fill the form in. I also do not need a step by step on how to use keys and lock doors. I did not like the way the breakfast incident was handled. |I would not recommend this B&B and I will certainly not stay there again.

Lovely b&b within a few minutes walk of Leyburn shops & cafes. Owners were very friendly. Beautiful room, spotlessly clean & tastefully decorated. Fabulous views from our room. Cooked breakfast was ok but there were no beans & far too many mushrooms.
