Spent one night here with my partner and we both thought it was a fantastic place to stay. Had a very warm welcome from the owners upon arrival. The cottage is beautifully vintage, very clean and tidy throughout. There were a variety of breakfast options and both of our breakfasts were cooked perfectly. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family and in the future if we were staying in the area it would be our first choice to stay at again. Fast wifi, plenty of choice of teas and coffees in the room and lots of attention to detail to make the stay very special. Thanks for having us - Jack and Katherine

After a warm welcome from the host, we were shown to our room which was beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable with many added extras. Following a great nights sleep, breakfast was very tasty and had many different options. We were sad to leave but the Mohair will definitely be our first choice next time we're in Yorkshire.

Just stayed over night, as my husband had a driving day at elvington race track, on the Saturday morning. The room was clean and very cosy, and plenty of coffee and tea, and if you needed more you just had to ask. It's set off the main road and you need a car to get out and about for dinner etc, but that's not a problem, it's rural setting is really nice. The breakfast room is light and airy with a view across the garden, and you can order whatever you like and it's cooked to perfection. Overall I would definitely stay there again, it's really good value for money, and the hosts are a really lovely couple.

Excellent accommodating host, lovely room which was very clean with views of the garden, I slept really well in a comfortable bed. High quality breakfast, my husband has not stopped talking about about how fab the sausages were, however, I would go for the scrambled eggs which were perfect. Highly recommended.

Staying at the Mohair farm was the highlight of my trip to York. I can attest first hand that their excessively good reviews are well deserved. Helpful and considerate from the initial communication prior to my visit, all the way to dropping me off at the bus stop at the end. The room I had was beyond lovely, comfortable, spacious, and pure country chic – overlooking the large tree filled with birdsong and a flower filled garden. Coming in from London it was like being whisked away to a parallel reality where everything was fresh, calm, lush and green. I was also delighted and grateful for the choices of herbal tea, normal tea, coffee and biscuits. There is even a choice in for the bath between Epsom, Himalayan or Dead Sea salts – which after walking around York for 6 hours was well needed. ||||To top is all off there was also a choice of breakfasts, but rather than a typical hotel choice of a few cereals and bread – here there was a wide selection yet again the choice of typical items for an English breakfast made or omelette of your choice. I was boring and had the same most delicious mushroom and cheese omelette everyday – worth getting out of bed for. On top of this I had the best nights sleep thanks to the comfortable bed, fresh air and pure countryside peace and quiet. The hosts really go above and beyond, and I am so chuffed that I choose to stay here – as it really was the highlight of my trip to York, and next time I need some R&R it’s at the top of my list to go back to for a visit.

We spent one night here, arriving late after a hot cycle ride. The b & b is easy to find, just off the road between York and Hull. Our hosts took our late arrival in their stride and made us feel very welcome - even when we had forgotten to bring cash to pay with, which was entirely our fault. There was a shed for the bicycles overnight and a lovely breakfast, with a view of the garden. The bedroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. We'd love to come back.
