Not the best B&B experience I've had if I'm being honest. We arrived and was escorted to our room upstairs. A strange doll cosy covered the hoover. Very garish. We were told breakfast would be in a cool box- continental style. The bathroom was very dated, carpet under the radiator wasn't cut properly, the wall near the door wasn't painted and wallpaper hanging off the wall as well as cobwebs in the window frame. The mirror would have been more suitable if i was 5ft tall. The flooring creaked everywhere and the sink clearly hadn't seen a cloth in a while. The coffee and milk cartons were old and dated and tasted terrible. The breakfast was plentiful but as we wanted warm food we left it and just drank the orange juice and had some toast. The room felt like it was on a wonk and the bedroom floor creaked. The bed was hard and could have done with comfier pillows as they were very flat. Not much interaction with the owners, however they were helpful with a local taxi company telephone number.

We stayed two nights and everything was good. Good price for a good room with a very nice breakfast (our vegetarian/vegan needs were perfectly satisfied). It is located just outside the city centre, what was perfect for the walks we went on with our dog (the Canal is absolutely beautiful and with a bit of luck you might even see a Kingfisher). Would definitely come again.

A lovely B&B. We were made very welcome here and the owners were really helpful. We had the family room which was spacious and comfortable. Good shower. They tried really hard to give us a good Breakfast in our room for which we were very grateful. The camping pods look like an interesting place to stay as well.

spent 5 nights here in connection with a family reunion during which we visited many local attractions. ideal situation within the area. large room in the annex with good size bathroom and efficient shower. clean and comfortable . breakfast delivered to the room door in a freezer box: fruit, cereal, milk, yoghurt, cheese, good quality fresh bread both brown and white with butter and marmalade- more than enough for us; kettle and toaster in the room. it worked very well for us. warm welcome from the hosts. our daughter and husband had the other annex room and their sons a room in the main house all of us very pleased with the arrangements and accommodation provided. yes it is traditional farmhouse furniture but that is what we booked into - not some faceless motel; this place has character. Thanks for the visit.

The title of my review says it all really! We visited York for the weekend to see the markets and also because we love the city. In the past we have stayed in a guest house in York city centre, but as the markets were on I think everything was booked up or extremely expensive. We found Ashfield B&B online and the reviews seemed good so we booked the family room for the 3 of us. We were welcomed as we pulled up to the house and shown to our room which was a great size and had the necessities - tea, coffee, kettle, biscuits and TV! The en suite had a shower, sink and toilet and plenty of towels were provided. We were asked what time we would like breakfast and given a choice of what we would like so we opted for full English and our daughter settled for beans on toast. It was a nice breakfast and plenty to set you up for the day. The room was a great temperature - not too hot which is something I find alot of hotels or guest houses seem to get wrong. Kay and David were very friendly and we had a good chat over breakfast both mornings - needless to say we will be going back there next time we visit York. The park and ride to York was about ten miles away so very quick and easy to access York without staying in the centre itself. Highly remommeded.

Place was clean and would of been fine for a few nights if the bed hasn't been the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on.

Breakfast also is only Continental at the moment as well so no cooked breakfast πŸ˜•

Finally the mirror above the sink is so low only a midget would be able to see themselves shaving in it, so I had to crouch right over which given my back ached from the awful sleep I had was far from fun.

On the upside was only around 50 quid and not too far from the town centre, plenty of off road parking too.

A fantastic B&B, can not fault it whatsoever. The owners made me feel most welcome as soon as I stepped out of the car. Spacious room and spotlessly clean, brand new immaculate bathroom, very comfortable bed and a delicious, ample breakfast. All this in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. Very highly recommended.

Stopped one night while visiting Pocklington. Good location, only a 10 minute walk into the market square. Good sized room, clean and comfortable bed, nice hot shower. No toiletries, so take your own. Breakfast is left outside your room (cereal, yoghurt, toast) which suited us as then you can please yourself and get off when ready. Nice host. Good place to stay when travelling through Yorkshire.
