The employees were great. Loved every interaction with them. The hotel itself is in a great location: very close to the gate. You can be standing in front of the cathedral within five minutes. Can’t beat that.

The room was a little dated. No A/C if that matters to you (we’re American so that surprised us, I know it happens in the UK); we bought a fan so that made it fine. Parking was an issue for us. If you come on a weekend, you may not get a spot. There were a couple of spots open but there was no way I could park an SUV in that spot (again…American not used to tiny parking lots and the other side of the car…I wasn’t going to risk my rental car). The entrance is very tight as well with a few inches on either side of my mirrors. We were very lucky and a kind man offered to park my car for me. I didn’t move it until we left because I’d never get it back in again! People from the UK may not have an issue, but for any Americans reading this…that may be a consideration for you. There is a car park down the street around the corner but it’s about $25/day. The plus side if parking does work for you is the hotel parking lot is gated and it feels very safe.

Have just spent 2 nights here with my granddaughter and would like to congratulate the staff on their attentiveness both at breakfast and at other times. Nothing was too much trouble for them at any time. We were based in the little bungalow rooms which were so quiet. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. The hotel is in a prime position for exploring the city and a short walk from the bus tour stop. Next to beautiful gardens and the minster. Thank you, I am sure we will return as we were made to feel so welcome.

The Minster is very well situated for access to shops and restaurants. There is a Sainsbury's Local store very closeby. The extension to the hotel does not allow you to experience the Victorian feel of the building and is situated adjacent to the carpark, making it a preferable choice for people with mobility needs. This area of the hotel was peaceful, safe and private. ||In my room, there was a seal preventing the glass shower door from being opened and limited space between the wall and this door for climbing out. I felt that it was a little precarious climbing out with having a handrail, and I definitely would recommend including one.||There is no dinner provided but the option is available to have breakfast.||I'd recommend this hotel for a short business stay.

We've been going here for years now. Friendly staff, always pleasant from moment you arrive till you leave. Rooms spacious and have everything you need. The breakfast is good and sets you up for the day. Massive plus point is the car park, very rare in york! It's gated so you feel happy that car is safe too. Park up forget about it and about 200m your within the city walls and don't need the car again.....

Hotel is very well positioned in the city. It is clean and comfortable and has a warm, homely feeling. Small and quirky, just how we like them. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was well appointed, and the bed was very comfy! Bar prices were very good, and the breakfast was great as well.

We received a warm welcome at The Minster Hotel based in the great city of York. The hotel was situated near to York Minster and the railway station. They were both easily within walking distance. |The room was spacious, and it had a very comfortable bed. A great hotel for York.

This is our second stay this year and will be returning in a few weeks. Was Celebrating our 54th Wedding Anniversary. Young Gemma on reception made us so welcome, she's a smashing lass in fact all the staff are lovely. Breakfast is superb, everything you could think of is on offer. (Bonus you might be served by Stewart). Rooms are clean and comfy. Book direct get the best price and free parking (But first come first parked). Just a few mins walk from York Minster, what's not to like. Highly recommended. See you soon x

A truly wonderful stay at this Georgian style hotel only minutes from York Minster. Great location, parking available and the rooms were nicely decorated with very comfortable beds.|Breakfast was excellent.|The best part of our stay from this family owned hotel were the staff. Nothing was too much trouble to make our stay pleasurable. Friendly, polite and very attentive to our needs.|A highly recommended hotel to stay in the Yorkshire area.|We will be back for sure!
