Bad bad bad bad don't stay drugs round there a lads off his head on Coke. Coucil pay for homless people who can't get a home bad bad bad dirty sheets on bed and the fire extinguisher need doing tooo. Last done by my father.east Yorkshire fire service selby. That was 2012 last done. Bad place don't stay ever. Thank yu

Sarah was my saviour.||Having abandoned a long distance cycle ride i need a secure place for me and my bike. Phoned and asked if there was secure storage, "not a problem, just keep it in your room". Card details taken and booked in seconds, wonderful service.||||Arrived to find a clean and comfortable room with easy access, Clean modern bathroom with plenty of hot water. Fridge in room was an extra bonus as i was able to chill my water bottles for the next day.||||Nearest food is the Indian Restaurant (Shapla) that has taken over the former Bay Horse Pub, cant comment as i didn't eat as too tired but its trip advisor reviews are OK.

My partner is staying for work and the room is not cleaned, no fresh bedding or towels... Not good enough! A manager who doesn't seem to give a toss either. Location is good for commuters and the Indian restaurant next door is great. No replacement tea/coffee facilities.

Needed a place to stay for a weekend, that accepted dogs. The bay horse fitted the bill. ||Though the décor in places was very tired, looked like someone had bashed a hole in the wall and a person ( bad at DIY) had tried unsuccessfully to patch it up and couldn't be bothered to slap any paint on.||The heating refused to work, so phoned the receptionist who came back with a portable radiator. Eventually the room warmed. It was the coldest weekend in November. ||We went out to the Bay Horse restaurant next door. The welcome there was very warm. Shown straight to a table, next to a radiator I might add. ||We ordered one of the best Indian meals I've had in a while. I had the tandoori mixed grill, my partner ordered lamb tikka. Both excellent also the side orders. The meal arrived quickly, although they were busy, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They chatted and passed the time of day with each and every customer. ||The price for the meal was very reasonable, also the drinks. ||If I'm ever in the area again I will eat there again. ||As for the accommodation, if I hadn't had the dog with us we would have tried elsewhere.

I'm writing this on behalf of my mum who stayed on the 19th Nov 2022. The room had a strong smell of damp, a fridge that was dirty and a microwave with rust and a handle that was loose. The shower plug had an awful smell coming from it. Someone had kindly left dog poo on the window which was still there when they left. Will not be staying again.

I'm normally skeptical with what I read on these types of reviews, but when I arrived at the accommodation, I was surprised to see it was exactly as advertised...And room looked exactly like the picture (which is always a positive). Well, what can I say, it was a great room, clean, spacious, brilliant. Can't complain at all, and excellent for the money. And it comes with a small fridge and microwave which was very helpful. However, I must say this accommodation is best used if your going to use it as a base, then travel from there to an outer town or city, such as York, as there's nothing round there. And having access to a car is a must. And if your planning to eat at the restaurants in front of it, or around the area, I'd advise you to book beforehand. Also please keep in mind the room doesn't have its own independent heating the radiators in the room are powered by a timer in the main office,so when it off its off,and when it's on, it's on (unless you turn it down via the radiator switch). Also you only get two bath towels. But overall those are just small things, as for the room, I'd recommend it.

Great accomodation if you are looking for cheap & cheerful||Room spotlessly clean. Everything you need. Comfy bed, clean toilet, good shower, plenty tea & coffee (always essential), all on ground level with easy access to your car, track nearby for walking dogs, fridge for the wine (!!), TV & good Wi Fi.||||Would come back in an instant.||Should add - adjacent Indian just excellent (best booking). Also great wee local pub (The Ship) close by

We booked a room at the Bay Horse for the night of a wedding we were attending in nearby Doncaster. On our way down, we received a call informing us something had gone wrong with our toilet, and our room would be unavailable. Disheartened, we booked another room for twice the price, because we still did not want to make the 2+ hour drive back home after the reception. Besides, hotel manager Sarah promised us a refund.||||A week later, we still had not received a refund. We contacted Sarah again, she once again promised to send a refund, but claimed she couldn't talk because she was in the hospital and would call back the following day (she didn't). After another two refundless weeks, I called the Bay Horse's owner. He requested our booking info, which I provided, and promised to have Sarah send a refund. Sarah sent a picture of what may or may not have been a refund slip, bearing no proof of our card info or identities. We've waited for a week and a half more to give the money time to arrive in our account. It did not. I tried to call the owner once more, he claimed not to be able to talk due to being in Spain, and referred me to Sarah. Sarah was, of course, "unavailable".||||My husband and I would very much like our £42.28 back. Seeing as we did not get to stay in the room for which we'd already paid, I think this is a reasonable enough request. It would be wonderful to receive the refund we have been owed for over a month.
