Tea room in Lenham,Kent. Serves a range of sandwiches and paninis and of course lots of cake. They open for breakfast and also have a selection of larger plates for lunch with daily specials. On the inside there are a couple of dining areas and there's a sofa too!
There is table service and apart from cakes the food is all cooked fresh. The doorstep sandwiches were tasty and had a generous filling, as it was just lunch tbh I didn't have room for cake. The lady who took my order was friendly, my coffee arrived within 5 minutes and my sandwich followed about 10 minutes later. There is a nice ambience to the place and they were quite full at about 2pm on a Saturday, they close at 3pm.
There is parking nearby, the village car park was full but I parked just 5 minutes away.
There are vegetarian options and alternatives milks.
A pleasant way to spend an hour and the village is nice to have a stroll around

Bow Window is a great spot for a morning coffee and breakfast, I really enjoyed their cappuccino, which was perfectly balanced and had a beautiful foam art. The ambiance is also lovely, with comfortable seating. The manager was incredibly welcoming and made sure all customers felt comfortable. Overall, it's a charming cafe with delicious coffee&food and a welcoming atmosphere.
Definitely will be visit very soon again.

Lovely little cafe with beautiful interior and garden. Popped in for lunch today and I was made to feel very welcome. Food was both delicious and reasonably priced.

I was really impressed with our visit to the The Bow Window Cafe in Lenham. We popped in on a midweek lunch time, it was really busy and deservedly so. All the staff are really helpful and friendly, they try hard to accommodate everyone and their individual needs. The website says they are dog friendly and it's true, my dog even got a little treat. I thought the price was good value for the quantity of food that you got. The hot chocolate tasted really nice and chocolatey, they also made it with an alternative milk for me. My toasted sandwich was so delicious and filling, the brie was nice and gooey. I have to mention the toilets which were super clean despite the amount of people using them. I think I'd try and book when I go again, just to guarantee that I can eat there. It's situated right near Lenham Square car park but watch the 2 hour limit for parking.

Very uncomfortable experience today at The Bow. A member of staff, who seemed to be in a managerial position, was very visibly stressed with how busy it was which created a very tense atmosphere. Please remember that your customers can hear your conversations (or rather your abuse) to your staff behind the counter.
The young man and lady working in there were working at a great pace but all I heard from the ā€˜manager’ was for him to hurry up and telling him that he needed to ā€˜improve’ because he was ā€˜too slow’ making a cup of tea. Don’t give someone instructions to take over from you to then micromanage him and do it yourself. Praise in public and feedback in private. You’re not only making more work for yourself but you clearly don’t trust your staff.
I can’t imagine how it feels working in that kind of environment.
This lovely cafe has so much potential if it had a general refurb and a more positive atmosphere from the ā€˜manager’.
