The location is great for Portsmouth and Southsea seafront. The room was small, but it appeared to be very clean and had everything we needed. We travelled during the recent heatwave so we were happy we had air-conditioning in the room. The pool and spa facilities was clean and seemed well maintained. Breakfast is served until 10.30am. We went to the restaurant at 9.15am. The restaurant was relatively quiet at that time. The hot breakfast on offer was basic but every item was available and the chef was regularly topping up. Unfortunately, the rest if breakfast was a disaster. Many items were not available including coffee and orange juice, and many of the continental breakfast items. The staff working in the restaurant were not pro-active in topping up items or clearing tables. The receptionist was very helpful and refunded the cost of the breakfast without any issues. If we return, we will book room only and go out for breakfast.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn expecting a comfortable, climate-controlled roomābut unfortunately, the air conditioning wasnāt working at all, and it turns out the system is centralized across the hotel, meaning no rooms had working A/C.||We were told to use small fans instead, which did very little during a hot UK summer. The rooms became uncomfortably warm, especially at night, making it difficult to sleep or relax. For a brand like Holiday Inn, this was really disappointingāair conditioning should be standard, or at least clearly noted if out of service.|Moreover, the windows were not fully openable,||There was a guy at reception who was kind enough to bring us a fan and bed-sheet. ||Staff were polite, and the rest of the facilities were fine, but the lack of basic comfort in the room really overshadowed the experience.

Iāve stayed at this hotel many times but it started going downhill a while ago, new owners. The place needs completely refurbishing, they may have tried but it was obviously on a small budget.
The restaurant is so dated. At breakfast, which is served until 10.00am the selection was very poor, no bacon, eggs, both mornings I had to ask if they were replenishing, this was 09.15am, no staff member monitoring. My abiding memory was trying to find clean crockery, it all needs replacing or invest in a new dishwasher.
My stay was paid through an agency, as I checked out I asked to pay any incidentals and was presented with a balance, and was duly paid. I checked the agency had paid my accommodation and was told everything was good. A few days later I noticed an additional accommodation charge on my bank statement for £348, yes you guessed it, I was charged twice.
For me this was the last straw, goodbye IHG Portsmouth. Iām a loyalty card member but I wonāt be giving by hard earned money to this hotel again.

We only stayed for 1 night - but I needed to contact them twice before arriving and my emails were answered promptly. Check in was easy. There was enough space in the car park for me. The rooms were comfy and clean. The shower was powerful and easy to use. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.

I checked into this hotel after a really long, not-so-great day and, to be honest, I was absolutely exhausted. On arrival, I was told by a member of reception that my booking hadnāt gone through weeks ago due to a system error. Fortunately, Stephen at reception came to my rescue and very kindly resolved the situation.
Stephen was professional, kind, calm, andāmost importantlyāgenuinely wanted to help me. Not only did he sort out the issue, he also provided me with a lovely, quiet room (as requested), so I could get the much-needed restful nightās sleep.
THANK YOU so much, Stephen, for being a wonderful human! The hotel is lucky to have such a fantastic employeeāservice with a smile and kindness really goes a long way.
The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed, lots of nice space to work around the hotel and good coffee š

Avoid childrenās swimming lessons on Sunday morning. NOISE with nursery rhymes, shouting, drenched changing room, blocked lockers etc. Carried into sauna, steam (more steam from a kettle) and tiniest jakuzzi. No warning of this when booking, in the room or when enquiring about pool times. As the reason for staying was to relax I didnāt feel the room was anywhere remotely near worth the Ā£170 we paid for the night. We did complain at the pool reception but didnt bother at the main reception (as they have all the charisma of a pavement). Shame really as the room was lovely but hot at Night and the breakfast was delicious and catered well for gluten and dairy free with impressive separate area/toaster/milk fridge etc. for coeliac/Allergy sufferers.

Stayed for one night at the end of June. This hotel is ok, but definitely in need of some tlc. The room was well apportioned but there were a couple of issues. From a cleanliness perspective it needs a good scrub- the bathroom door had brown drip stains on it and needs a clean, the tea tray teaspoons were both used.||The room needs some work. Thereās a hole in the carpet, lots of scuffs and marks and generally just a bit grubby. Annoyingly the air conditioning was rubbish/not working on quite a hot night. ||No vending machines for snacks/bottled water late at night and the receptionist wasnāt very helpful.||The bathroom was spotlessly clean and looked like it had been refurbished recently. The hotel also seems to have great facilities like a swimming pool and gym and a conference centre.||All in all, Iād stay again if there were no other options, but next time Iāll be looking to try somewhere else.

Felt like Home. Have stayed in London I instantly felt at home on entering my large, comfortable rooms. Carparking was a bit of a challenge but inside the views, rooms, relaxed ambience & staff had me relaxing and reluctant to leave. Breakfasts were top tier, fresh, generous and abundant choice they started the day well. Would dearly love to stay again and for longer
