We booked a table for 25 in the evening and had a fantastic time. I was concerned that the food would take a while to come out for each course or it would be difficult for guests to remember which course they had ordered, but the staff had everyone’s names to hand, and the food for each course came out promptly and piping hot.

The food was honestly excellent and everyone commented how good it was, alongside the attentive and friendly staff.

Highly recommended for atmosphere, old English style pub, food quality and staff.

Had a lovely meal with my daughter and sister.

The service was amazing, the food yummy, although I found the pastry a little hard on my pie!

Over all a wonderful experience and will definitely come again!

I've been in this restaurant for dinner with a group of colleagues during a business trip. I loved the welcoming atmosphere of the typical British pub with all the wooden furniture, the draft beers and the dim lights. I had the pea and mint soup as starter and the sirloin steak as main course, they were both very good. Prices are in line with the other restaurants in town, the service was very efficient.

Booked this hotel due to it being near the town centre and having its own carpark. Unfortunately there are about 8 spaces at the back of the hotel, so if you arrive on a busy Saturday afternoon be prepared to drive around looking for a car park with a space. Luckily on our 3rd time around the block a space became available in the pub car park, albeit a very narrow space.||We were able to check in early and were greeted by Adam who explained all the hotel details to us. Rooms are at the side of the hotel, we had room number 1 which was located on the ground floor facing the rear garden area. The room was quite dark but as we weren't in there for too long it didn't bother us. There is a kettle and coffee machine, iron and ironing board, fan and hairdryer. Toiletries are also provided in the bathroom. 2 tins of IPA were also left for us to try, very nice touch. A few tea bags and coffee sachets are provided but definitely not enough milk. Also would have been nice to have some hot chocolate. There is a heated floor in the bathroom which was nice first thing in the morning but the heated towel rail didn't seem to work.||The pub is extremely busy so I would advise booking a table early if you want to eat there. We didn't but the food that we saw looked very nice. The town centre is a 5 min stroll so we were away from the noise but near enough to venture out. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs in the area along with a good shopping centre.||Breakfast was fantastic, plenty of options including healthy choices for those that need to watch their diet. ||Check out was a bit slower, there were no staff members around which I find strange considering it was check out time. It took one of the staff's children to find someone for me.||All in all a good stay and we will return.

We had Sunday lunch here and the food was very good, portions were big and the pub itself is lovely. Cosy, staff were super friendly and lots of lovely dogs. It was too cold when we went but they have a really nice garden too, which I can imagine would be great in the summer.

Lovely pub / hotel - modern yet characteristics. The lovely old barrel in the floor in the room was a nice touch. ||Small but nice bathroom, large waterfall shower. ||Bed was large & comfy. The bottle of beers was a nice touch. ||Breakfast was delicious. Stayed for business but would definitely stay again.

Atmosphere is nice and staff helpful and attentive but the roast Sunday dinner was not up to the same standard. The cabbage seemed to have been cut in half and seared on a hot plate but not cooked. It looked nice but the leaves could not be cut with a knife because they were uncooked and the stalk of the cabbage leaves was too hard for the knife to get through.
Similarly with the carrots which were warm but not cooked. So hard tge knife would cut through. Not "al dente" just raw. Sorry but somewhere i would go back too.

Fabulous location, close to the town centre.
Parking is limited. We were lucky as the school next door was on holiday so we could use their parking area.
Great rooms, which have been refurbished recently, brilliant breakfast and a really vibrant fun atmosphere in the pub.
Loved it. 😍
