We had planned for a three course meal but unfortunately disappointed by the meal, we paid and left for our dessert in one of Bury's other restaurants.
I had ordered the ciabatta with cheese, caramelised red onion and roasted beetroot with a side serving of rosemary seasoned fries. The roasted beetroot turned out to be from a jar ie it was pickled and the fries were just that - fries with no seasoning.

At no point during our meal did anyone check in with us to see if everything was ok and even on collecting our plates I had to volunteer that the food was not as ordered. An apology was offered and I was asked how they could make it better, so I asked that it please be addressed with the chef. Before we left I asked if the chef had been told and if so what the response had been. It turns out he 'forgot' to roast the beetroot and that they had run out of rosemary and yes, I should have been informed of this.

We paid for the meal, a customer service discount was never offered, although our server could not have apologised to us verbally, any more than he did - so we thank him for that. We made the decision, however, that there are many good and we'll priced eateries in Bury St Edmunds, and won't opt to return to eat here again.
