A small group of four of us stayed at Middle Farm House for three nights and were delighted with everything about this gorgeous farmhouse. Louise and Roger are fantastic hosts who bend over backwards to make you feel welcome and at home in their home. The beautifully decorated rooms are immaculate and feature sumptuous linens and top quality tea, coffee and biscuits. The breakfasts are beautifully cooked to order and feature delicious locally sourced ingredients. The hosts can give you insider tips to visit Bruton, Castle Cary, The Newt, Wells, Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury which are all very close. Do go stay - you won't regret it.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a find this was. We were visiting friends in Somerset and wanted to stay somewhere local to them. Our hosts, Roger and Lou exuded warmth and made us feel part of their family home for a weekend. This charming, characterful house is located in one of the most beautiful hamlets in Somerset, near enough to facilities and Castle Cary mainline station, but far enough away to feel like you're in the middle of rolling English countryside. The views from all windows of the house are of beautiful lush green landscaped gardens, punctuated with little nooks with benches for contemplative moments. There is also a lovely summerhouse which we were able to use for drinks at the end of the garden, and a croquet set had we have wanted to play.||The interior of the house is beautifully designed and executed with lovely antiques and sumptuous fabrics. The red room where we stayed was spotlessly clean, with fresh white company linen, and had a very comfortable bed with high grade feather pillows. The private ensuite shower room was a real bonus, and even the tiny bathroom window with a crisp linen curtain revealed a different view of the garden.||We were treated to a wonderful choice of locally sourced foods for breakfast, including eggs, bacon, sausages and amazing locally baked sourdough bread.||Lou and Roger are amazing hosts; they are a mine of information about the local area, and can recommend some lovely restaurants and pubs in the area. There is so much to do around them including a visit to the Newt, and to Hauser and Wirth. Middle farm house is a short drive away from some of the best sights in Somerset. There are also some fabulous country walks from the house should you care to explore on foot.||All in all, a fabulous stay. 10/10. Would go back to stay in a heartbeat. Dont hesitate to book; you won't regret it. The only problem is if they have any rooms available! Word has got out!

Middle Farm House is an embracing place, not least because Lou and Roger are wonderfully genial and amenable; we were accommodated like family guests. We were there for a birthday celebration which they enabled and enriched with generosity of spirit.||||The characterful house is appointed for immediate relaxation; there are various cosy spaces centred around the kitchen where Lou and Roger exude their hospitality together. Breakfast is plentiful, the bedrooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms well-appointed. Their impeccable gardens gather the evening sun, and the summer house is well positioned to relish both. ||||Glastonbury Tor can be seen in the distance and is well worth climbing at sunset! Found halfway down a quiet lane and surrounded by fields, Middle Farm House is an ideal base for the brilliant Bruton and beyond. There are so many venues for memorable days and evenings; we particularly enjoyed eating at Roth (Hauser + Worth) and meandering in the Piet Oudolf garden there.

Our time staying with Louise & Roger was amazing. Their house is like stepping back in time, the grounds are meticulously kept, Louise’s breakfasts were fantastic and our hosts made us feel like we were part of the family from the moment we arrived. We also loved the area and recommended restaurants were excellent. As you can tell, we loved everything about our stay. Very highly recommended.

Middle Farm House is a beautiful place to stay with lovely gardens and ample parking. We were in the Yellow room. Nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, bed linen and towels from the White Company were good quality. The cooked breakfast was delicious with locally sourced meat, eggs and bread and we had stewed rhubarb from the garden. Lou made us feel very welcome and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This is a really wonderful b&b - a beautiful farmhouse that has been lovingly restored to the highest standard. We stayed in the garden room which has amazing light, double aspect french doors, luxurious bathroom, including bath for a good soak after a walk and a walk in shower. Enchanting garden and summer house. The bed topped it all - extremely comfortable and big, we slept SO well. Our friendly and welcoming hosts put thoughtful attention to detail to every aspect of the stay - fresh, delicious breakfast, quality teas, minimal use of plastic, local news and ideas. We were visiting for a wedding but will definitely return for longer. It's a also good stop off point if you want to break up the drive to Devon or Cornwall.

A fantastic house, full of charm and character. Lou & Roger were fantastic hosts going above and beyond to help us and give us tips on places to go etc. They cooked a delicious full English breakfast each morning and we were given menus at check in to decide our breakfast preferences. Beds were large and extremely comfortable and curtains were black out for excellent nights sleep. We were in the Ecru room which had beautiful beams (just watch your head if you're over 5ft7!) We had an external private bathroom which was just down the corridor and were provided with robes to wear. The bathroom was large with bath and separate shower. Excellent water pressure and luxurious toiletries to use. 2 smaller and 2 larger thick white fluffy towels to use too! My parents had the red room with ensuite which was also a good size and my grandparents had the beautiful garden room which crucially for them was accessible to the outside and we could even park the car outside for easy accessbilty. This had a very large bed, TV and wet room and had beautiful views onto the front and back garden through French doors on both sides of the room. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were also provided in the room which was thoughtful touch. We also spent time in the beautiful summer house at the end of the garden which was a serene, comfortable place to sit and relax or read and look out to the immaculate garden and admire the house! We also loved meeting Woody, the gorgeous Westie Dog who is so friendly and gentle! ||We had the best stay here and Lou and Roger were 5* hosts, we will definitely be coming back!
