Arrived here with my wife for a well earned break. Was met by Tony on arrival, a very cheerful and friendly person who was welcoming and informative. Initial impression of Wren Lodge was lovely, clean and tidy and we immediately felt at home this impression did not decrease through our stay. Despite the usual rubbish British weather, we did manage one evening with the magnificent astronomy equipment on site. I was blown away with the views. All helped by Tony and Murray whose knowledge of the night sky was far and above anything I could hope to muster. They're help was invaluable. My highlights were NGC6826, I think it was, The Blinking Nebula. and M82, never seen it with such intensity.||Away from the lodge there are many places of interest nearby making the AstroAdventures a thoroughly wonderful place to stay. Will definitely stay again

We've just come back from a lovely week staying here and we were lucky enough to get 6 hours stargazing despite pretty poor weather throughout the week. What made the stargazing even more special was the super informative sessions given by both Tony and Murray who were unbelievably generous with their time. We managed to see Jupiter, Saturn, Orion, nebulae and even a galaxy that was 47 million light years away!||||The cabin we stayed in was warm, spacious and comfortable and fully equipped for self catering.||||The location is beautiful, quiet and perfect for stargazing as there is no light pollution. During the day we visited places nearby such as Bude, Croyde, Dartmoor and Clovelly.

We spent a week here with our two very little children and couldn’t have asked for more. The lodge was great and comfortable even in the cool weather we had. It was well kitted out for a family, including a cot and high-chair and there was tons of space on site for kids to run around plus swings and a climbing frame. ||The pool looked lovely but unfortunately we didn’t have the weather to make use of it. ||Murray and Tony are superb hosts, lovely people and fantastically knowledgable about astronomy. Murray was very patient with my wife and I in showing us what was possible with a serious telescope and persisted for hours with me in trying to sort out a fault with my own telescope. ||All in all a fantastic week in a lovely part of the country, hosted by delightful people.

We have just returned from a brilliant holiday at Wren lodge. We had family who were in Jay lodge so was a perfect base for an extended family holiday. The facilities were ideal for spending warm summer days and evenings by the pool and sunbathing and games in the grounds, we barbecued on a couple of occasions. The children loved being in the pool but was a little chilly for the adults. lodges were well equipped with everything we needed and very clean for our arrival with supplies to keep the lodge clean. Lots of things to do locally, we did paddle boarding on nearby Tamar lake, enjoyed a day at the wake park in Bideford as well as visits to Bude, Widemouth bay, Crackington Haven for rock pooling as well as a visit to Boscastle. Thank you to Murray for the informative star gazing evening where the children and adults were fascinated with views of Saturn, Jupiter and lots of constellations through his telescope.||We would like to thank Tony, Murray and their partners for their hospitality and would love to return again in the future.

We have just finished our holiday and cannot thank everyone enough for making it such a memorable experience. Tony and Murray were incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our first experience at stargazing so magical. The location is idillic and such a peaceful getaway. We would highly recommend a holiday here and hope to go back next year!

I can't find words for how much we enjoyed staying here. The owners were very nice and friendly and the place was just so peaceful, we didn't feel the need to really go anywhere else! The chalet was comfortable and had everything we needed and it was clear that thought had gone into making it covid safe. I loved the pool and swam every day, it was like having a private pool. The astronomers in our party loved having use of the telescopes; the night skies were absolutely incredible! All in all 5 stars isn't enough and we will be back as soon as possible.

This was our second visit in 2 years to AstroAdventures.||We hired both cottages and were welcomed to fresh scones, jam and clotted cream on arrival - perfectly washed down with some tea. The accommodation was very clean and everything worked well.||We felt well looked after and Murray was very patient with us when showing us the telescopes. If you are first timers or seasoned star gazers this place is for you. You are made to feel right at home as soon as you arrive and nothing is too much trouble.||We came to get photos of the moon and went home pleased. Star gazing is only ever if the weather permits and a couple of nights it wasn't possible. We asked Murray for his slide show one evening and to look at his meteorite collection. What a great idea to see some of the shots taken over the years by Murray, Tony and past guests. If you come, do ask Murray, it's really good. There is a small charge, but such value for money.||Drive to Holsworthy town (15 mins) a bit more happening here than the nearest town.||A stay here would make a great present for someone who is interested in Star gazing and if you come as a pair and one of you is not so keen, a lovely countryside setting.

The Wren Lodge was just right for our family of four. Our two boys shared the second bedroom comfortably. Tony was friendly and showed us around the accomodation when we arrived and the welcome cream tea was a nice touch. Having the swimming pool right outside the lodge was also a bonus that our boys took advantage of a couple of times. The location is pretty handy for places of interest in North Devon, Clovelly and Bude are both only a short drive away and Woolacombe and Ilfracombe are also drivable in less than an hour. A really good base for exploring Devon and Cornwall.
