Called in at lunchtime, greeted me by a wonderful member of staff and gave us a guided tour of the bars and dining areas. We travelled with two dogs and the staff were so accommodating, steering us to the dog friendly areas. The menu covers all tastes and options. The interior sitting areas are comfortable and tastefully decorated with wonderful views over Widemouth Bay. The bar was well stocked and served quality local ales and ciders. A big thank you to the wonderful staff. Definitely return when next in the area.

When we entered the Inn we were slightly early for our restaurant booking so we enjoyed a drink in the dog friendly bar. The bar staff were helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the fantastic views However when we went through to the dog friendly restaurant for our meal in the restaurant we experienced poor customer service. We waited at least 10 minutes before someone showed us to our table. The head waitress was very indifferent and slightly rude. She seemed to be more interested in the dog free area even though the dog friendly area was much busier. We didn't have our order taken until 20 minutes after arrival to our table, even though there were plenty of staff in circulation. Our meal arrived 40 minutes after our arrival even though we had booked for the first seating of the evening. We couldn't fault the presentation or quality if the food, it was exceptional. What I could fault is the service or lack of it. For each course we had to ask for cutlery which should have been provided prior to the meal. The service or lack of it spoilt our experience. This restaurant could be exceptional if customer service was at the forefront of their ethos. My experience left me slightly underwhelmed and my custom under appreciated.

We arrived at around 5 and booked a table for 6.30pm. The lady that booked us in was helpful and over rode the computer system to accommodate us.
We sat outside before our meal enjoying a drink and over looking the beach at Widemouth. We then went inside and were show to our table. The pub had undergone a refit and looked amazing . The waitress came over and took our order. She knew the menu well and was able to recommend different things from it.There was a good menu which included a children's menu and a specials menu.
I had the salmon from the specials served with pea risotto which was well cooked and tasty. My little one had ordered ribs but sadly there were not enough in stock but the waitress was apologetic and extremely helpful. ( She was brilliant!) My partners meal should have come with rocket but came with kale although this was not a problem. The other meals were tasty and looked lovely. We ordered puddings too. All were good and looked lovely. Although mine came with pomegranate seeds rather than passion fruit. We enjoyed our meal, the
service was great with knowledgeable friendly staff ( apart from tiny changes which I'm hoping is down to a new menu)
We also were treated to a beautiful sunset! We hope very much to return again and hope the bay view continues to thrive!

The Bay View is owned by a local family and has just been refurbished, it has a crisp modern appearance while maintaining its features. |The staff are welcoming, the room was lovely with a brand new en suite wet room. They are dog friendly. |The breakfast menu was amazing loads of choice which caters for all diets. The veggie breakfast was delicious and filled us up all day! Great coffees too |Our dog loved it as he got a sausage for breakfast in his own bowl. | Well worth a visit.

Went for a family lunch and the lemon crab toast was especially delicious I could have 5 of them! Unfortunately due to the timings the chef was ill so we couldn't order of the specials menu but the food is lovely and made up for that!

Absolutely lovely place to stay, great location overlooking the cliffs and the Bay, beautiful rooms, tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. We had lunch on the outside decking on a beautiful sunny day and the food was delicious. This high standard of food, (and service), was maintained when we had dinner in the interior restaurant in the evening and breakfast the next morning. All of the staff were an absolute credit to this establishment, especially 'Annie', the owners daughter, who was delightful. We have booked another stay and are looking forward to many more in the future.

We stayed here for 2 nights in room 5 (one of the luxury sea view rooms with a balcony). The first night was during the heatwave. The bedroom was very hot and there was no aircon or even a fan, so we had to sleep with both the door and window open. This room and the one next to it are both directly over the outside deck, so it was incredibly noisy with kids screaming in the playground, live music and people talking. We couldn’t get to sleep until well after 11pm once the bar had closed. The room itself was clean and modern with a decent shower room, but the bedroom itself is quite small and there’s nowhere really to put a suitcase. The breakfast is good quality and is included in the price. Overall this place is OK for a night or 2, but I wouldn’t stay for longer than that. Top hint - bring a fan and some ear plugs!

Stayed over for one night, not a single fault to mention. Really friendly and helpful staff. The room was immaculate with INCREDIBLE views. The food was also amazing, and well priced. Can’t wait to go back!
