Despite seeing some very negative recent reviews, my friends and I decided to take a chance on this place anyway. It sounds like they've recently taken over the place so some leeway is needed for them to get on their feet.|We're glad we went, the buildings are really lovely and the staff were all extremely friendly! I slept so well, in one of the rooms in the outhouse buildings, bedding good quality and comfy. Great shower, lovely view! |We had dinner and it was expensive, but it was very good and felt it was worth it. |My feedback for improvement would be to work on the ambience- there was none! The restaurant and bar area had no background music playing- this makes all the difference! It was very quiet and there was no atmosphere. |I think there's a lot of potential with this little hotel/restaurant - just get up to date with a few things, add cocktails to your menu, offer water in the rooms, add some nice music and perhaps offer a later checkout for those that want it. |Overall money well spent and would go again.

We were recommended to try Home Farm restaurant by our accommodation at Rose Farm. I would highly rate the chef. Great tasting food, reasonably priced for the quality offered. Our only suggestions would be to train your waiting staff better, the two young ladies that were on call were sweet but had no idea! Presented and tried but just gauche! No wine cooler with the rose wine, no salt and pepper, not around and the place was virtually empty. Some background music would be appreciated. More advertising, better ambience and the restaurant would become a destination place to eat. We had the mushroom dish as a starter - sublime, then one duck dish and one lamb - cooked a little dry (we asked for ‘pink’) but the sauces wonderful. Didn’t like the blackberry ice but that was our choice as we thought it too sweet. If you’re in the area do try the food - well worth a visit if the staff could have some more training please! Sorry didn’t take any photos.

Great owner run hotel!

Very friendly welcome and room upgrade ( unsolicited) which is always well received 😀

Bedroom large and clean. Tv, tea/coffee facilties etc. Good wifi

Free car parking......virtually unheard of with the chain hotels

Breakfast was included for me. Breakfast times a bit limited (8-9am) but the owner did allow me to get something at 730. Breakfast menu picture attached.

No evening food, but local pub a 10 minute walk

Would stay again!!

So this is going to be a bit strange review.. I booked here for new years eve.. We arrived and was greeted by Craig who was so warm and welcoming and explained that had taken over between Xmas and New year now that is amazing. So we went to our room and had booked into the restaurant..
So we go down to eat and got introduced to the old owner Richard who was doing a working handover which is nice to help Craig settle in, but I think going to a little room to look at the menu then to restaurant was a bit strange and didn't like it, the menu consisted mostly of Thai food which was very nice but few English meals was weird especially as local fish harbour down the road.
Anyway the rooms were definitely not up to standard the rooms were dusty which few months of dust.
But I would like to say that Graig and his wife are taking over and excepted feedback to help with improving in areas.. We have said that we will definitely be going back to support Craig and Claire as big adventure and taking over at the most difficult time of the year and I like to congratulate them for the future..
Craig cooked the breakfast which was good..
This is set in Wilmington on the old A30 set just off the road.. So we will be definitely going back and I would recommend because was lovely place and friendly atmosphere
Thank you Craig for your hospitality and all the best for your future with your family in your new adventure.
Is closed for January to do work but reopening in February

Worst hotel we have stayed in! There was no welcome on the mat at all, when we walked in the girl didn't even look up at us or seem interested at all, showed us to our room. The room was very nice can't fault that at all also the layout of the hotel is nicely furnished. The food was terrible and extortionate prices for what was suppose to be a brilliant chef, he couldn't even cook a burger properly, it was raw and just a burger and few chips nothing else. Drinks on menu, didn't seem to have much of what on menu especially the wines. Breakfast was awful to!!! Other couples came down and we were all saying Faulty Towers!!!! They only seemed friendly to people they knew, don't think they spoke to us at all. No one ever around just left key on desk when we left!!! Will not be visiting again...........

We recently took our five year old granddaughter to this hotel for a short break. She is very shy among strangers but with Richard and Nat she was completely at ease. The hotel was spotless and nothing was too much trouble. They run the hotel by themselves and keep everything spotlessly clean. We have never eaten Thai food before but when we ate in the restaurant the food was amazing. Beautiful food and generous portions. We shall definitely be going back again soon hopefully with the rest of the family. We would recommend it to anyone with or without children

Went for fish and chips Friday. Absolutely amazing. Good wine choices too. A must for tourists and locals! Can't wait to try the Sunday roast which was recommended by a customer. In all a fabulous cosy friendly atmosphere.

If you wrote an industry manual on good B&B/local hotel service this place (particularly Rich the owner) would/should be the benchmark in my view. The service is impeccable (super friendly & welcoming without being overbearing) - you feel like you are guests in their home that they genuinely care about. The rooms are spacious and spotless with very comfortable beds and decent quality towels and bath/shower gels etc.

I cannot recommend their food highly enough either. Whilst you clearly need to like Thai food for it to be a sensible venue for dinner (albeit they are very flexible to accommodate your relative spice level desire and any other requirements you may have), if you do you’ll be amazed by the freshness, flavours and overall quality of the dinner. I would be astounded if there was any Thai restaurant within a couple of hours drive that comes even close to it. The chef (the wife) is Thai which is clear as soon as you see and taste the authentic food. Admittedly coming from London, I found the prices insanely good value too, not just for the food and drink but the hotel as a whole.

If you are after the latest/modern design and furniture etc then this (clearly) isn’t for you. If however you are after a family run local hotel that bends over backwards to deliver a memorable and comfortable stay with delicious food and a very well stocked bar then don’t even bother look elsewhere – book here.

Thank you for such a lovely stay!
