lovely setting and food in the adjoining pub was fresh and tasty and good, bedrooms were fine. Good size pool and selction of steam rooms, the gym equipment bit rusty. Spa treatment was as expected, I was offered to upgrade products used to Elemis, but didnt. Breakfast set up and choice reminded me of a premier inn, in terms of the set up and choice, and I would have expected more from a spa hotel, scrambled egg so undercooked it was off putting. Afternoon tea was fine but not memorable, couldnt work out if the sandwiches were made before as didnt seem fresh and filling although tasty wasnt generous. Enjoyed it but wouldn't go back as i have had better for the money

Stayed here twice now for York races and enjoyed both times. Rooms are nicely done up, I stayed in the Fat Abbot second time around, but preferred staying in main hotel. Spa and gym are excellent and well worth using. Outstanding Thai restaurant a two minute walk away.

Hotel it's self was fantastic, staff very helpful and friendly however we stayed in the enhanced room and it was very dated, wallpaper falling off ceiling etc, the bathroom was the only modern part of the room and the Jacuzzi bath was amazing after a day walking round York.

The spa was brilliant with 4 different rooms steam room, sauna, salt room and aromatherapy room Jacuzzi nice and big and very warm, pool however felt freezing after being in the Jacuzzi.

Would stay again but wouldn't pay for the upgraded room.

We had the best day celebrating our wedding at the Parsonage.|| We had our ceremony at Escrick church and loved having a reception so close. Louise even surprised us with a bubbles at the church. Our guests were so relaxed not having to move far and the whole weekend ran very smoothly. ||Our canapés, meal and pizza were yummy and drinks were flowing. We loved also how the bar is in the same room as the dancefloor as everyone partied the night away. ||Thanks to Louise and the team who were really helpful all the way through, making the day and planning as stress free and fun as possible!

I held my ‘significant’ birthday party at the Parsonage and it was fabulous. |I had the Crystal Suite which was perfect for my 40+ guests with a 6 piece live band and dance floor. |All of the planning and preparation was seamless, with the team being flexible, efficient and helpful. |We had 15 bedrooms, at a special rate, for guests who wanted to stay over. |The team couldn’t do enough for us on the night. The food was delicious and all the guests complimented it. The service was both friendly and efficient. |We had an absolutely top night and the whole event was great value for the quality we received. I’d heartily recommend for an event.

Just what you need for a relaxing break.
Suprise night away with Spa treatment from husband. The hotel is impressive at first sight and has 6 acres . It also has a gastro pub , spa facilities, and a beautiful church.The room was warm and cosy, not modern but clean, and had everything we required. The gentleman checking us in was lovely and really helpful even when we couldn't recall our car registration( senior moment). All staff friendly . Ate at the Fat Abbott, which was nice. Food is warm and tasty. There was a wedding on both days that looked lovely.
Breakfast was good. there were plenty of cooked items and all hot.
The Spa staff were very friendly and informative. The site was lovely and clean. Facilities were great. Steam room, aromotherapy room, sauna , jacuzzi, and swimming pool. Our treatment was for couples, and we were informed about the treatment. This was the most relaxing treatment we have had . So thank you, Sylvia and her colleague, for this experience. We will be back.
Highly recommend the Parsonage and the Spa.

We got married at this hotel on the 23rd August 2024 with over 50 family and friends staying at the hotel and everything was absolutely perfect from the moment we booked with Louise to the minute we checked out the day after the wedding the staff could not do enough to tend to our every need, I had my hen party in the spa the week before the wedding and we all had the most relaxing day with treatments, we ate in the fat Abbott the night before the wedding (23 of us) everything was served hot and quickly with all the food being very tasty. The breakfast was superb on both mornings with a designated area reserved for our wedding party so we could all enjoy breakfast together!.|I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break wether it is a relaxing weekend away,to a hen party or wedding!

Close enough to York for speedy car access to all attractions but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.

A charming hotel where staff work incredibly hard to ensure customer delight.

The hotel caters for wedding parties and other special events including special package stays which are always popular.

A busy hotel during peak periods such as Christmas… important to book well in advance.

Excellent spa facilities, safe private car park
