I've been coming to Penrose in Lostwithiel for many years now, and I can honestly say it really is the best B&B that I have ever stayed in. Chris and Heidi do a fantastic job, keeping everything just as you would expect. The full English breakfast is so lovely, freshly prepared, and beautifully cooked.
A very relaxing place to stay, wonderful views over Lostwithiel. It is a great location for visiting so many places, not just in Cornwall, but even into Devon if you plan a whole day out. There is no need to drive on to another B&B unless, of course, you are going on further.
Really sets you up for that perfect holiday feel, coming away feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Dog friendly, too, nice local walks.

Chris and Heidi are fantastic hosts and the place is Victorian elegance
The food is excellent.
Try the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and dill.
It is as good as it gets.

Chris and Heidi were the perfect hosts , lots of little extras in the room even an alarm clock!|Bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was extensive and very well served using local produce, my sausages were delicious.|I highly recommend a visit here.

We stayed here for 2 nights as were attending a nearby wedding. Location was great for what we wanted. Cute village with a Co-op so we could pick up some snacks and drinks nearby.||From the get-go, Chris and Heidi were available, friendly, helpful and welcoming. I have stayed in many B&Bs where the hosts are friendly but its clear they are doing it because they feel like they have to and seem to have lost their love for what they do. It could not be more different with Chris and Heidi! They are friendly and chatty without being imposing. So personable and warm, I could have happily sat and chatted with them both for hours! ||The house is lovely! Very vintage feel but with modern amenities. The mattress was super comfy and it felt like they had thought of almost everything in the rooms and as a person who loves planning and hosting myself, I really appreciated every detail. ||Would highly recommend this place and a massive thank you to Chris and Heidi for everything during out 2 night stay

Have just returned from a three night break as we were attending a friends funeral nearby.|Chris and Heidi made a sad occasion much more bearable.|They really are the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. The breakfasts were superb with an amazing selection including Heidi’s home made marmalade and preserves. |Would thoroughly recommend Penrose guest house.

We had a wonderful stay at Penrose B&B in Lostwithiel Cornwall. The hosts, Chris & Heidi were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and the room comfortable with everything we needed. A great place to see The Eden Project and a town with so much history! We would certainly recommend this B&B

We couldn’t have asked for more . Our Hosts Chris & Heidi greeted us on arrival with smiles & made us feel right at home . Their home is a beautiful Victorian house & is situated slightly higher than the village of Lostwithiel giving amazing views of village & lush green rolling hills as the backdrop. I had the attic suite . Huge bathroom with skylight flooding bathroom with natural light . Bedroom was large & very comfortable & I slept like a baby.The entire property was extremely clean & kept in theme with the Victorian era. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of options from local farmed products for a great full English, Kippers , Smoked Salmon Scrambled eggs . Fresh juices , cereals , fruits , toast & yoghurts. The main purpose of the visit was to visit Eden Project which was a 10 minute drive . Also very conveniently located to visit both Fowey & Charlestown both highly recommended. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality & appreciate your professionalism & hard work . Hope to come back & visit soon .Brenda John & Paul 🙂
