Great stay, the host was really welcoming and friendly... The staff are fantastic and so helpful. I had the lamb shank for my meal and the meat just fell off the bone, it was the best lamb shank I've had. My partner had the lasagne and loved it... The drinks were great and the locals were so nice. The room itself was really nice and the beds so comfy. Would definitely recommend, 5* stay.||One negative, what isn't really a negative.. was that we struggled to lock the door from the inside meaning the door was unlocked throughout the night, probably our fault but might be worth checking out as we checked out without seeing anyone.

Excellent value for money. Lovely greeting from host when we arrived and this friendliness continued throughout our stay from all of the people who work here. The food is exceptionally good, nutritious and all made from scratch cooking. We stayed B & B. The atmosphere is welcoming from those who work here and from the locals. The inside of the building is gorgeous. It has open log fires, which weren't burning when we were there, but we could imagine the lovely sight of logs burning and the heat which would have been generated. Lovely village where this establishment is based, it's very quiet, so if you really want to chill out this is the place to be. I would definitely book into this cosy and well run establishment if I was in this neck of the woods again. WELL DONE to everyone who works here and Good Luck for the future.

If your looking for 5 star hotel then it's not for you. However if you are wanting a cosy friendly place to stay then get there. Room was spotlessly clean. Facilities good. Landlord and all the staff very polite and friendly. Couldn't do enough to help. We had an evening meal in the pub and breakfast the following morning and both were gorgeous. The pub itself was buzzing ,no loud music etc just the locals having a good time. We paid £90 for b&b which is under valued. Get there and support a team that values it's guests!

We had two nights bed and breakfast here during a conference held a few miles away. A really pleasant stay. Very warm welcome and very helpful staff. Delicious meals. The room was very comfortable and mealtimes were flexible to suit our plans. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here on a Saturday night, we were lucky to have great weather. You can't check in til 5pm when the pub opens. Double bed, which was a bit soft for us, plenty of tea and coffee, fan supplied to keep room cool. Lovely beer garden at the back with an abundance of flowers. Very reasonably priced drinks. Food served til 8pm. Large dining room to the side. I ordered fish pie with veg (it also came with chips but I didn't want them), my husband had steak pie and chips. Both meals were great at £13.95 each. You have to go to the bar for your drinks. Everyone was really friendly. We had to order our breakfast just after we ordered our meals, so both opted for the full English - £10 each. A breakfast menu would have been ideal as we weren't sure what the other options were. As it's in the middle of the country, a torch would be ideal for during the night as it was pitch black! We could hear people at the front on the wooden benches drinking, but then it quietened down about 930pm. We came down for breakfast at 830am, glass of orange juice on table, then our breakfast came out, we had a pot of tea and toast came at the end, which I prefer. Nice quality ingredients, kept us full until teatime.

A local inn with rooms. Friendly service and some real characters in the bar. Our room was spacious, clean and totally functional. We also ate there. Decent food with generous portions and sensible prices. . Be aware check in is not to 5pm. The Inn is simply shut before then. Great value and good for a one or two night stay

We needed somewhere to stay as we had 2 days of events in Harrogate... This was about 30 mins away down quiet roads.
Absolute gem.... Lovely friendly welcome, clean room with plenty of hot water. The food was magnificent... Good value.. well cooked pub food.
Breakfast was lovely... Could not be faulted especially for the amount paid.

We nip in for a pint after work sometimes, the staff are excellent. The landlord is friendly, welcoming and chatty, the beer is always top notch.

The beer gardens (front and rear) are relaxing.

The parking is plentiful and easy to access.

The food is nice, we tried it once and will visit again.

It's a traditional old pub, you can't ask for much more. The bar is often heaving, which is a great sign for a village pub. This place is definitely doing something right.

The facilities are always very clean.

Can't comment on the rooms as we have not stayed.
