Popped in on Sunday afternoon for the first time, seems like a very friendly local pub. Just had a drink, but found the staff very welcoming and friendly. It was absolutely packed so I'd definitely like to return to try the food.

Wonderful new owners!
We stayed while completing the South Downs Way and only noticed on the day that the pub was under new management and officially not doing evening meals. So we arrived with trepidation, wondering whether our room booking had been honoured and whether we’d have to find food somewhere else. We needn’t have worried; the welcome we received was wonderful, the room made up and the kitchen kept open for us. Had a delicious meal, fabulous breakfast and even the offer of a packed lunch.
The rooms are being spruced up and new beds will arrive soon but even so, it was all very clean and we had a great night’s sleep. The bedrooms are in a separate outbuilding and very quiet.
Can highly recommend!

What kind and helpful people that run this pub! We stayed overnight for a wedding nearby and returned for Sunday lunch the next day. The room was clean and comfortable. Lots of good options for breakfast and the lunch was delicious- all homemade, very tasty and piping hot. Service was excellent and they really couldn't have done any more to help us during our stay! Will definitely return if in the area. Thanks a lot.

I only had a bowl of chips and a coke but what a amazing portion size of chips for the price and they where proper skin on fries 🙂 great place to stop on a bike ride deffo be back again to try something else
