We stayed for 1 night after a long day hiking. Dog friendly, clean rooms! Small but enough for what we needed! Outstanding was the exceptional service from Chris who welcomed us very warmly! Food was great. And it was nice to see how busy the pub was in the evening! Only to mention is the room above the restaurant might not be ideal, if you prefer to go to bed before midnight, as the walls are very thin! Nevertheless, we will be back for sure!!!

Arrived at the Foresters Arms and our car broke down.
Pete the landlord immediately offered to help, which was very generous of him.
We ate an excellent lunch and then went up to our very comfortable and clean bedroom.
Breakfast was of the same high quality the following morning and I would thoroughly recommend staying here if you are looking for a cosy welcoming Sussex pub.

Dropped in whilst visiting the area and welcomed by the landlord and landlady as we sat in the beautiful and sunny beer garden. It was their day off but the spent about 45 minutes in very pleasant conversation with us even though we told them we were camping nearby and just passing through. Which we thought was very generous of them to spend so much time with us. We have visited and stayed in hundreds of places where we have spent more money and nowhere has the welcome been so warm! Peter and Cindy were both lovely genuine people and exemplary pub landlord/lady. We will be returning on Saturday for a final night blow out at the end of our holiday. We would recommend this pub to all!!

Cracking pub in a beautiful village. I had some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life from a chef who seriously knows his steak cookery.

My problem is that I will definitely be returning for another steak but have now read that they’re best known for their Sunday roasts.

If they’re better known for their roasts than their steaks, I have no concept of how good that must be.

Looks like I’m going back twice.

Lovely pub and very friendly staff. I stayed in a local Airbnb and went here on the sat night for dinner. Great food with a lovely atmosphere. Thankyou for fitting me in! 🙂

A superb experience!! Great garden and outdoor area. Cosey interior. Nice beers and quality food. Really friendly staff and customers. Great service too. Good location with stunning British countryside. Onsite parking. Hard to beat this place - top top pub ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
