We’ve dined at the Shipley Aagrah many many times over the years, we’ve always enjoyed great food and service in the a la carte restaurant and more recently we’ve discovered the delicious delights of the grill & carvery buffet, the wide selection of starters, mains and desserts lets you have a little bit of everything so you can quite literally eat until you are fit to burst, and for the last few years we’ve chosen to eat our Christmas lunch there too and it is for the most recent visit that this review is based on.

The restaurant has recently reconfigured the layout of the grill & carvery, the kitchen has been moved which has opened up a considerable area for additional dining and we were initially concerned this extra capacity may lead to it being more congested at the self serve buffet but the opposite seems to be the case, throughout our meal there was a steady flow of diners loading up their plates (ourselves included) but the staff kept all the dishes well topped up and the whole thing just seems to work better.

The food was exceptionally good, considering the volume produced it was all perfectly cooked and variety enough to suit all palettes, there was even a curried turkey offering so we left very full and contented with all our choices, the photos really don’t do justice to that but give you an idea.

Just on a final note, the restaurant is no longer licensed so if you do want an alcoholic drink with your meal then you can bring your own but any soft drinks must be purchased in house.

So thank you Aagrah for another wonderful Christmas meal and we will look forward to seeing you next year and many times in-between I’m sure.

A great selection of food, including fruit, pastries, English style breakfast, and Indian cuisine.
Freshly cooked, tasty food, with great service and value.
Eat as much as you like, you will not be disappointed.

Aagrah Midpoint is better, better food, better service, and better atmosphere. We visited the flagship in Shipley for the first time only to be absolutely disappointed. The receptionist didn’t offer the Buffet and only offered A La Cart, we offered a £10 tip to change his mind. We rang for an hour to get a reservation but no one picked up, then on arrival the receptionist stated reservation only for buffet. When we get upstairs we fine 3 other unbooked couples waiting for buffet too. We were straight lied to by the receptionist.

On to the buffet, the food was cold, ribs but no chops, the kicker, i only had few sips of my £7 mango lassi, when i went to get my second plate the waiter removed it. On request, the manager only offered to replace with a Rubicon can, which was at room temp. I, as always rounded up my bill and gave an additional tip however, i will never come here again! 4/10

Aagrah take away food is excellent. Very quick delivery by Uber eats and food was warm, delicious & good packaging. Definitely recommended everyone during corona time many people avoid to go to restaurant so if you want best food and quality then go for Aagrah. Thanks
We went to their restaurant 31st May 2025 for dinner menu. We ordered tandoori mix grill and butter cream with tandoori roti and popadam with sauces n ask for salad but they were rude and said we don’t do salad her then we said can you please get some salad from your buffet bar they get few salad and they charged £7 for salad. Popoadam £7 as well. Go their only food don’t buy salad n popadam together is £14 n you can buy instead of these you can have nice 2 starters. I will not go there again. Not happy with them

Cold food in the Buffett, lamb chops was so dry burnt and hard. Would not recommend anyone to go there. All dishes was cold. Buffett burners for Buffett was turned of. Would not be going back again.

I had the buffet at Aagrahs and was expecting to be disappointed as I saw many reviews stating the buffet wasnt great. The food was tasty and catered to the needs of diverse groups. While the food was nice I do think they could improve their selection. The customer service was on top and definitely better than Aagrahs Midpoint where the waiters seem to run away. The atmosphere was nice and calm and overall a chill environment.
