Let's start with how we based our ratings
Lanzarote 5☆ hotel in August

All inclusive 14 days including flights and transfers
£7,000
Cornwall ( labelled as luxury ) in August

NOT all inclusive 14 days
£7,000
So from the beginning, rip of britain again rears its ugly head.
The review will sound to many as we are focusing too much on the negative aspects of our holiday but when you pay for a premium break that is also advertised as a premium break, then it is not unrealistic to receive, as per contract, a premium product. If the price was lower, and description more realistic, then it would then fall into a bracket of you can live with the faults.
The following issues where taken to the on site management team but only partly dealt with and towards the end, we couldn't be bothered as this was clearly a money making scheme.
The team were delightful and helpfull where possible but it was a more deep rooted concern that unfortunatley was beyond the teams control.
so firstly, we paid for an accommodation that would accommodate TWO cars, i also telephoned main headquarters to establish this and confirm before booking on line this was achievable. The answer was YES, it required us to travel in two vehicles from London, quests and luggage for 14 days.
I would of NOT booked the vacation if there was no two car parking at property.
The reality upon arrival was a make shift gravel trap for one vehicle which in reality barely could sit one vehicle. Arriving at 9pm after a long and exhausting drive due to accidents and roadworks, to say i wanted to shed someones blood was an understatement.
Managements view on site was i was wrong to be told that two car parking available on property but i was more than welcome to use the overflow carpark at end of village.
My answer was he could take a flying jump. I had a luxury vehicle and it was never going to be parked away from the property, nor was that of my wifes. I also pointed out that a quick review of the village, it seemed 70% of the other properties had dedicated, hard standing two car bays to the property, management said he could not do anything about the situation.
> door fixtures broken and coming away from mountings
> wardrobe in master bedroom was tiny, ie was the size of a single occupancy room.
after complaining we were offered a wardrobe rail on wheels to be placed in the bedroom, like the ones you find in a department store with the sale items on view, CHARMING NOT.
> wardrobe in other smaller bedroom had a massive wardrobe but unfortunately the rail was hanging off, management fixed after complaining
> spiders and webs readily visible, remember luxury complex
> master bedroom bathroom layout wrong. Sink had no eye level mirror, so when shaving i had to turn my head to the left where there was an available mirror.
> sloping ceiling in master bedroom was convenient late at night for me, a man, i could stand there in front of the WC and rest my wary head against it as i done my thing.
> decking banisters loose and insecure, not child friendly or our dog for that matter
> garden furniture rusted metal, not child friendly
> floor tile loose in kitchen near work tops
> various lights not working, staff addressed ones that i raised concerns over
> listening to music on outdoor speaker on the decking one night, switched off around 10am but carried on talking, at which point neighbors starting banging on their windows for us to keep quiet, REALLY, no wonder the fabric of this country family morals have been eroded away. A family on holiday, attempted to be bullied into submission for having family fun........WOW.
wrong on so many different levels. A sad indictment of today's society, in this country.
As i said, i have focused more on the negatives, but we paid alot of money for this so called luxury, drained our accounts for this with expectations.
