A Truly Excellent Stay at The Hair and Hounds Hotel!
Our recent visit to The Hare and Hounds Hotel was an absolute delight, largely thanks to the excellent service we received from start to finish.

We'd accidentally booked for the wrong day, but the hotel staff proactively phoned us and changed the reservation with no problem at all. This quick and helpful resolution immediately put us at ease and set the tone for a wonderful stay.

Every member of staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit.

The breakfast truly stood out as a highlight. The selection was excellent, offering a fantastic variety to suit all tastes. However, the Full English breakfast was outstanding – perfectly cooked and incredibly satisfying. It was the ideal start to our day!

We highly recommend and can't wait to return.

I stayed at the Hare and Hounds Hotel for 2 nights with my elderly and not very mobile mum and my dog, Belle.
I can not rate our stay highly enough.
The hotel is beautiful and set in lovely grounds.
Our room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean.
We had meals in the bar both nights. Very good.
Breakfast was fresh with a lot of choice and a sausage for the dog.
Very dog friendly hotel.
I've left my comments about the staff last as I've not stayed in a hotel with such exceptional staff before. So friendly and welcoming. Kindness and nothing too much trouble.
Very much appreciated, thank you.

The Hare and Hounds is a beautiful hotel on the road between Highgrove House and Westonbirt Arboretum so was perfect for a night away for my husbands birthday. Lovely room, tastefully decorated, sumptuous towels and Moncton Brown toiletries. Delicious coffee on the tray and plenty of it. No biscuits though! Only other things we can comment on negatively is the shower which was very weak and the pillows which were neck breakingly overstuffed!|The hotel food was very nice, the bar, restaurant and garden were lovely and service was faultless. |Would definitely return, but take our own pillows next time.

We stayed The Hare and Hounds because of it's proximity to Highgrove, for which we had booked a garden tour, and is literally five minutes away. |We had brought our dog, so we stayed in one of the special cottage rooms away from the main building. We were impressed with the huge bed and style of our room, which was on the ground floor. However, I was disappointed with the lack of privacy. The windows had roller black-out binds so there was a compromise with losing your natural light if you didn't want passers by nosing in your room! Also there was clear glass in the bathroom and if you were using the bath or shower during the day, occupants of the opposite property would be able to see you! Plus I found it noisy on the ground floor with all the coming and going. Private parking at the back though.|Grounds were fairly extensive. Our dog was happy with the space, but the woodland path area could do with a clear-up.|Our dog was made welcome by the staff, and was given a nice sausage while we had a lovely breakfast. |Unfortunately, the food I had in Jack Hares bar wasn't so good. The burger I had was full of hard grisle and I spat most of it out! And there were no checks by the staff after our food came, so I had to go to the bar to complain. I got the price of the burger taken off the bill, along with the extortionate 12.5% service charge. So we didn't eat here again. But overall, it was a good experience and would stay here again. But would go elsewhere for food..

We found our spacious deluxe room in the main building very comfortable and the huge double bed extremely comfortable even though we had to climb two flights of stairs to get to our room. We managed but anyone with any disability would struggle. The carpet was badly stained and could have done with a deep clean. After returning to our room at 2 pm there had been no housekeeping carried out. We didn’t make use of the restaurant until our last morning for breakfast and were rather disappointed. We had two guests with us so with a charge of an extra £23 each we thought it rather highly priced for what we had in one case just a yogurt and pastry. My husband requested a plain omelette which we were told was not possible. Surprising for this calibre of establishment. In fact the whole hot breakfast was really not up to expectations. All in all our stay was very pleasant and the staff were very helpful and friendly but there were a few disappointments for the money we paid.

We had a big group of friends for a get-together for an evening meal.
The service from all the staff was exceptional, they remember everyone drinks.
The food was served all together and very well presented. Nothing was a problem. Definitely be going back and would like to stay for a night as the surroundings are beautiful.
Well done to all.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel in early June and can highly recommend both the rooms and the service . One of our party stayed in an accessible room and the hotel could not do enough to help and make sure it was suitable for our parties needs . |Dined in the restaurant both for Breakfast and evening meal a few times and they always made sure the seating was suitable for an electric wheelchair and the food was lovely . Would have no hesitation in staying here again !

The room we were booked into in Silkwood Court had ants by the bathroom door and there was a large amount of staining around the area of the tea and coffee facility. It looks scruffy and totally not in keeping with the sort of hotel this is marketed as, and not worthy of the price for the room of £210 room only. The first alternative room we looked at was an accessible room simply because it was supposedly ready to move into straight away. However, the sink hadn't been cleaned as there was brown paper in the plughole and the bed was unevenly made with the sheets virtually touching the floor on one side. We were finally put up in a family room in the main building as that was the only viable alternative, even though that was upstairs and a long walk down a long corridor. That room wasn't clean either. There were dark hairs clearly visible on the white linen and there were hairs visible on the chairs, all of which we had to pick and wipe off. We've stayed here before and there were issues with hairs on the furniture that we reported to reception on leaving and they said they would make housekeeping aware but clearly that has had no effect and there doesn't appear to be any obvious system to ensure rooms are properly clean before being passed as suitable for occupancy. We have stayed here several times for a night as it is geographically convenient for us but we won't be staying again as we are no longer confident about how clean it will be, as to find cleanliness problems in three rooms in one evening is just too much. In more general terms, the decor in other rooms we have stayed in does look tired now and there is too much dark furniture, and even that hasn't been properly looked after.
