I have just stayed at the Stonehouse Court Hotel for one night. |I have had a bereavement recently & needed a quiet get away. It was absolutely perfect. The location is by a canal with stunning views of the countryside. The staff were all lovely & friendly. We had a lovely lunch when we arrived & sat outside in the beautiful surroundings. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. I was lucky enough to stay in the Hay Barn (room 64) which is in a newly renovated part of the hotel & it was just wonderful. It was beautifully decorated & had an outside private space with table & chairs where I sat in glorious sunshine reading my book. I would highly recommend asking for this room if you stay there. Thank you Stonehouse Court for a wonderful experience.

Excellent. Lovely hotel. A must visit.

Relax in the garden. Canal at the bottom of the gardens which was a nice walk into town. Lots of lovely walks in the area.

Great breakfast which is cooked to order. You can mix and match or add more if you require a bigger breakfast. Good continental selection. really friendly staff.

Only downside is the bed and creaky floors. A little uncomfortable but that did not spoil the two night break. If you choose not to have housekeeping you get a couple of free drinks at the bar.

Overall enjoyed our stay and would come here again.

Stayed two nights as we had a wedding in the area. Lots of stairs down to our room which was hard with luggage. Booked a table for seven people for dinner and restaurant was empty not a good sign. Small plates we ordered were average and the main courses were overpriced and not very nice at all. We sent one back but because we a had all travelled three hours we’re hungry and would eat anything. We really should I sent it all back. Crab linguine was brown and looked more like chimeric. steaks undercooked cold and the chicken supreme watery with lack of taste. Side salad was a handful of what looked like watercress. Bearing in mind the high prices we were all expecting something nice. Waitress asked towards the end whether everything was ok and I told her no. And then no follow up was made. Later we headed to the bar where we saw another two customers complaining to the manager and they left not paying and leaving the food on the table. Been looking through your reviews and see this is a running problem which you reply to but never seem to sort out. Breakfast was better but not much!!! Cold when the full English arrived and a long wait. Had to keep asking for things. No sauce. No Bowls for the cereal and fruit. Eggs were hard. Luckily went to Sainsburys to stock up just in case we were left hungry again. Bed was the smallest double ever and did not have a very good sleep on both nights. All in all a very disappointing stay. Beautiful hotel but you need to sort out the food or don’t offer it. Decent Chef required.

Our room was a good size, but felt the sink was too small, plus to high. Lots of stairs to our room, had a heavy case and not any help. But hotel was nice and food was really good, staff were so helpful. Imagen was really helpful, and gave us lots of information on what to do and were to go....she is a credit to the hotel. Really enjoyed our 2 days, thank you.

Another place on our roast tour completed. We are fortunate enough to live a couple of miles away so chose to walk along the canal to the hotel for roast lunch. The beef was plentiful and delicious. We both loved this meal and the addition of cheesy leeks and a bottle of red made the meal. The service was terrific and the restaurant had a great atmosphere.

Stonehouse court hotel on the outside looks fine and even the reception and bar area look very nice however having stayed Initially in little court Which was extremely noisy due to the close proximity of the road.  After eventually being moved Things got progressively worse The rooms were dated And the décor tired The shower pressure was apauling, when  I mentioned this to reception they said if more than one person has a shower it creates a problem.  The staff were very helpful But I will not stay here again and would not recommend to anybody else.  It makes me consider whether you're better off in a budget hotel at least you get what you pay for|

Comfortable room, but t.v range poor.
Food overpriced. The house salad, not expensive ,comprised pea shoots and 2 baby plum tomatoes . The carrot starter (£12) lacked flavour.
Breakfast offering good but vegan sausage poor, coffee terrible.
Staff polite and friendly but service in the restaurant was extremely slow.
