Visited for dinner with friends out of town. Food produce seems to be local; great portions and taste. Service was fantastic. Amenities are very clean. Vibe and surrounds are on point. Highly recommend for a spot of grub or drink in Tetbury.

We had a totally fabulous stay. Jude’s service in the evening was 10/10. Made us feel so welcome. The meal was delicious! They catered for us and our dog perfectly. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back and highly recommend. Tetbury is charming and The Royal Oak offered us a perfect base ❤️

And so we returned after staying here last year. We were visiting Highgrove gardens just down the road so there was no question as to where we would stay. It’s the staff that make this place special, Mike, Jude, Adrian, Sky are all so hospitable and friendly. Also the Rob? ( chef) who cooked as a tasty breakfast and evening meal. The pub has a great ambience and the location is excellent. We will return !

The queen of hotel bookings Shell strikes again. What a beautiful stay we had at the fantastic Royal Oak in the heart of the gorgeous Tetbury. Theo the DM was a credit to his industry, brilliant welcome from him and what an all round lovely chap he was. Answering all our questions on the area. We lucked out with the weather, so managed a few drinks outside in the garden area, just getting that Cotswold fresh up the nostrils was enough for me, along with sipping on a superb pint of Asahi (didn’t even nick the glass 😂). Room was lovely and cosy giving it that real country vibe. Bathroom was a delight, couldn’t believe how fresh that water was from the taps. Just a five minute walk up the hill and you are in the main town. No trouble parking, they have Ample free spaces. So many beautiful walking routes on your doorstep as well. Breakfast was just perfect the next morning, bizarrely I fell in love with the cutlery 🍴. Shame we only stayed for 1 night but next time it will be longer for sure. Thank you for a wonderful stay to kick off the Birthday week in style.

A great local pub with a good range of beers on tap. Great outdoor space too for Summer time drinks and there's a food van operating on the grounds some evenings. Ideal location for a pint after walking the old railway track.

Popped in for a quick drink on a Monday night and ended up having the “Workers Pot”, which is an amazing curry (usually two choices) with a side of either rice , fries or bread. Apparently they do this weekly and the choice changes each week. It was just fabulous and we had one each of that week’s flavours (beef & sweet potato). Very reasonably priced. |Theo the dep manager was absolutely super and so welcoming, as was the young bar lady. |We took our dog and there is also parking at the back of the hotel. |Cannot recommend highly enough. Needless to say we will be back.

The pub itself was in a great location in Tetbury. It looks lovely from the outside and had a nice vibe while we watched the England rugby match. The staff behind the bar were friendly and there was a good choice of drinks available.
The Full English breakfast on the Sunday morning was great.
Upon check in, a young man from the bar showed us to our room. He flagged it 'smelt a bit funky due to the carpets having just been refitted'. We opened the window, but after an hour, it became too much and we really struggled to believe it was due to new carpets as the carpets had stains and weren't very clean. There were also some dog hairs on the bedding and carpet.
I flagged this with reception and was told there had definitely been no dog in the room (the hotel allows dogs in 3 of the 6 rooms and I specifically booked a non pet friendly room due to my husbands allergies). The same gentleman said they were fully booked, otherwise he would have moved us to another room and offered us some air freshener.
We then discovered that a dog was staying in the next door room (the Oak Lodge), also listed on the website as one of the non-pet friendly rooms.
My husband's allergies flared up overnight. The following morning, we found some white gunk on one of our towels.
A real shame as the pub had a lovely vibe, but the smell really was terrible. We had the window wide open all night (in February) and the general cleanliness and smell of the room meant we were unable to relax there and really affected the positivity of our stay.

Was really looking forward to staying in this well reviewed pub but found the experience very disappointing. Arrived and was shown to our room which we found dark. The bar lady told us how to put the TV on (helpful) but not the lights - could not figure out why the bedside light would not switch on - the switch was behind the bed and had not been plugged in! ||Went to make a hot drink and found the kettle unusable - full of limescale. It had not been cleaned in a long-time. That set the tone for our stay - the sofa had marks on it, the floor was covered in dust,(where the bed had been split into twin beds) as were the bedside lamps and the tray in which the cups and water were left was dirty. No other word for it. The shower screen wasn't cleaned properly either. The housekeeping was poor. It was obvious that nobody had run a final check on our room before showing us in.||Given what we were paying, I felt it was expensive for what we received. I had to ask the staff to fix the light and clean the kettle, which was done that afternoon, but when you're paying £170 for the night, you don't expect to have to ask!! We didn't point out the dust - the chap sorting out the light would have seen it.||We stayed in a ground floor room and the noise from the room above was terrible - I suspect there is no carpet/rug on the floor so we could hear everything! We also had outside tables right outside the room with people sitting and enjoying a drink - this could be irritating if you were looking for an early, quiet night - especially in the summer.||The beds were comfortable but the heating went off in the room by early evening, making the room cool but as the bathroom was warm, we kept the door to the bathroom open to heat the room.||The breakfast was ok - no extras through. Cheap orange juice, cheap yogurts and no pot of coffee on the table. Staff were helpful and cheerful but it was hard to work out who, if anyone, is in charge. Somebody needs to take a grip of the place and run it before standards drop further. Attention to detail is missing.||Overall, a dismal 3 star experience for a 4+ star price and on that basis, we cannot recommend.
