We recently attended a wedding catered by Carrington's and were genuinely impressed. The meal served was afternoon tea-style and was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were happy, friendly and professional, and the whole service was seamless. In the evening, we were served hot sandwiches and again, couldn't fault the flavours, presentation and service. Really top-notch, would highly recommend.

I have to say how disappointed I was with the service and the food provided for my daughter’s wedding.
When we went to check the venue the night before the wedding the tables had been set up for the grazing table and the cloths were dirty which we had to point out to the venue manager and ask that it be removed and clean ones added. The grazing table I have to say was up to a good standard and enjoyable.
The main food served in the evening was disgusting. I had what I thought was a hot chicken sandwich which I couldn’t even taste chicken it was just a very overwhelming sweet taste and inedible! They served roast potatoes instead of chips, potatoes were hard and dry again inedible! Every guest that I spoke with expressed how terrible the food was and most of the guests were left hungry, so much so that they ate 3 tiers of wedding cake to fill up on, (cake was not made by carringtons) I have to say how extremely disappointed my daughter and her husband were and the fact that it was as expensive as it was Carringtons certainly did not provide a high standard of catering.
Service was also very slow, apparently they were short staffed!
I definitely would not be recommending Carringtons and i expect my daughters guests will also be of the same opinion, we will be avoiding using their services in the future.

Used Carringtons to cater a private event and want to commend the team for taking the time to listen to what we required and offering us a flexible solution.
Everything on the day went perfectly, the food and service were excellent and we received lots of compliments from the guests.

We have recently used Carringtons Catering for a family wedding. All I can say is Wow! The food was unbelievable, never tasted anything so good! The service and attention to detail made the day even more special.
For any function Carringtons is a must! Thank you again.

We were faced with a choice of only 2 caterers for a wedding. Carringtons were the only ones who could do what we wanted, or so we thought. The day before the wedding, on delivering things to the venue, checking the setup, I found a dirty table cloth. Raised with the venue who in turn said they'd raise with Carringtons. Not what you expect from a professional caterer. Sadly just a sign of things to come.
On the day, the grazing table we had was great. Zero complaints about that, and all our guests enjoyed it. This is the only positive thing I have to say about the catering on the day.
For the children's meals which were served along side the grazing table, we were asked to find the children...not what you want. One of the kids had asked for chicken and was asked to take the halal option because there was no chicken left. Despite ordering more than enough kids meals. So the child was left waiting until they cooked the chicken.

The hot food later in the evening was hot pork sandwiches and hot cajun chicken sandwiches. With a side of roast potatoes. I have never had such disgusting food. I took one bite of my potato and spat it out. Like it had been cooked in age old oil. Tasted like play dough. Despite when requesting the potatoes, because they couldn't do chips for us, and asking to flavour them, they were plain, and utterly foul. I had a pork sandwich. Awful. The sandwich was dripping in apple sauce, the stuffing was a solid half in thick square layered on top of the pork. Most guests who we asked at first were polite in their response to the food, but when we pushed because neither of us enjoyed the food, there were very few positive reviews. Some food was piping hot, some food was luke warm. Guests said service was slow also.

I complained to Carringtons. They responded with nothing but their thoughts on how they perceived their catering to be on point. An 'apology' for the way I felt. Also questioning the time it took to complain to them. Sadly life happens, and a bereavement 2 weeks after we married, meant that this complaint was not at the top of my list! They also said the venue had asked us about our experience. We specifically told the venue on the day we collected our things, how disgusting the food was and that we would be complaining. So either that was a lie or the venue failed to give the correct feedback.

All in all, not a company I would recommend based on the price, the quality you get for the price, and their lack of adequate response to a reasonable complaint. Ruined a large part of our wedding. I haven't mentioned the venue because they were great from start to finish, I just wish this caterer wasn't one of only 2 choices.

We were required to use this catering company for our wedding in June 2023, as they are contracted with the venue. While the food on the day itself was very good and well received by our guests, the service and communication in the lead-up to the event were incredibly disappointing.

The biggest issue was the poor customer service and unprofessional attitude, particularly from the owner, Helen. Interactions ranged from sarcastic to outright rude, making what should have been a collaborative and exciting part of the planning process extremely stressful.

Even simple and reasonable requests — such as offering the vegetarian starter to guests who don’t eat fish — were initially met with inflexible responses along the lines of: “If they’re not vegetarian or allergic, they have to have salmon.” This was just one example in a series of unnecessarily difficult conversations.

Thankfully, we were eventually assigned a new point of contact who was lovely and much more understanding, which helped salvage some of the experience and ensured we were able to relax and e joy the day itself. However, based on our overall dealings, I would strongly recommend avoiding this company if possible — particularly due to the unhelpful and dismissive attitude of the owner.

I was surprised to learn that, the wedding I attended, had the same caterers for the grazing table and supper, the supper of hot pork or chicken rolls with chips. Whilst the grazing table was a delectable choice of very fresh salad, meats and cheeses with fruit and was absolutely lovely, the supper on the other hand was in my opinion very different in standard, my husband and I thought it came far too late when many guests had left. I had to go searching for a portion and approached the kitchen, as we thought we had been missed, we didn’t eat the roasties as they were cold and undercooked. All those carbs so late in the evening was a bit heavy for us so we just ate the pork and scraped off all the sauce, of which there was far too much. When catering for a wedding and a premium is charged for this service, there should be no cause for complaint whatsoever. Something went drastically wrong at the end of the evening. To offer a simple apology is just not good enough, surely customer satisfaction and great word of mouth for offering a faultless service, should be highest on your list of priorities, as a business in catering.
