Absolutely superb Sunday roast, gravy was to die for and meat so tender. Ate there 3 times on our week's holiday and each time delicious food cooked perfect, brilliant chef. Great choice of food and very reasonable prices. Service was great, friendly and speedy. It's dog friendly which is great with jars of treats. Would recommend reserving a table on Sundays and recommend a visit if your in the area, I would definitely return and recommend to anyone. Thank you 😄

We managed to get a table without a booking, even though most of the tables were reserved. We were welcomed by a very friendly barman who showed us to the table and asked us to order at the bar when we were ready. Excellent menu choices. When the food arrived, it was hot, and the portions sizes were huge. We would definitely recommend this pub/restaurant not only for the food and drink but also for the welcoming atmosphere. We will return but would book a table next time. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

We had been here last week and it was lovely, went today and was completely different, we booked and then asked not to be put in the corner as it was very warm, unfortunately they said no other space(even though tables were empty). We took the seat and ordered drinks before the food.
My husband had soup and bread to start with, the soup was nice but unfortunately after having a half slice he found the other was mouldy. I showed the chap(owner i think) and he didn't say anything, just took the plate, I told him I didn't want the mains and would pay for the drinks and the bit of starter that was eaten. What disgusted me the most was no apology, no mention of redeeming things just brought the card machine for payment. Was not bothered at all.

Fantastic village pub. Menu had some distinctive dishes, with plenty of choice and the prices were very reasonable.
The food arrived and I was really impressed how freshly cooked everything tasted.
The place was busy and popular, little wonder. A really good find I'll definitely be returning to.

Stayed at the nearby Haven site and as its been nearly 20 years since last coming in here, booked a table.
Joshua, provided both bar and waiter service, was quick, efficient and very friendly. Couple of nice pints with the Cumbria ale and Dizzy Blonde.
Meals were both superb and plentiful, and not overpriced. Fish & chips for me, rag pudding & chips for OH. Wanted the liver, bacon & mash but it had sold out, unfortunately.
Clean and tidy pub that offers 7 rooms for accomodation. Nice beer garden to the rear to relax in. Only about 10/15 walk back to the caravan. Central village location and great base for exploring the South Lakes.
Advised for a visit 👍đŸģ👍đŸģ

Shocking, the staff are rude and extremely ignorant unless your a local, all 3 bar staff had the same rude attitude, the food was piss poor and microved garbage. If I could give this place zero that would be a lie, Avoid at all cost!!!
