A charming stay with wonderful hosts

We stayed at Old Daltongate House for just one night, and it was absolutely lovely. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, with great communication throughout. They kindly let us park our motorcycle securely around the back, which we really appreciated.

They also had excellent local knowledge and were more than happy to take the time to chat and share tips about where to go and what to see in the area.

Our room was peaceful and beautifully presented, with a lovely en-suite bathroom. Considering the house is over 500 years old, the refurbishment has been done superbly—charming and full of character, yet modern and comfortable.

Breakfast was fantastic—cooked to order, with vegetarian options available, and everything was fresh and delicious.

We’ll definitely be back. Ulverston is a lovely town, and this guest house is the perfect place to stay if you want to be looked after by truly lovely hosts.

A great 1-night stay in Ulverston at Old Daltongate House. Excellent hospitality, well appointed rooms, and a great breakfast!

Conveniently located in the centre of town, The Farmers (just round the corner) was a great place for dinner.

Would recommend to anyone planning a trip to Ulverston or the South Lakes.

What an amazing guest house. We had a lovely weekend stay. The hotel was very characteristic, perfectly fitted out with the rooms having everything you could possibly need. The breakfast was excellent with a massive selection of food to choose from. Great hosts - so friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a very pleasant stay - perfect location too.

Very good B&B with a warm welcome. The house is nicely furnished and everywhere was very clean. We had a lovely modern bathroom with a large walk in shower and our bed was really comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Conveniently in the middle of Ulverston.

Great location no carpark but there is on across from hotel but £7.50 a day but go up hill 100 feet turn right and there's a carpark there £1.50 a day

Beautiful property, the oldest building in Ulverston and lovingly maintained with top quality furnishings. Very comfy bed, great shower, excellent breakfast, would definitely stay again. Would recommend the Farmers just down the road and the Bengal Rose Indian Restaurant which was excellent. Sadly didn't get to explore Ulverston the next day due to awful weather but there are some very nice independent shops and cafes. Ulverston was buzzing on a Wednesday evening!

Stayed here for one night on a business trip to the area.|The B & B is located very close to all amenities. (The Farmers is a nice pub just a few minutes walk).|The room was very nice and the breakfast was excellent.|I would definitely recommend this B & B and would stay here again on m y next trip to Ulverston.|There isn't a private car park, however there is a public car park, directly opposite the B & B.
