Great stay in room 8. Made to feel really welcome with dog. Staff courteous and attentive. Food excellent. I had a whole pan fried brill which was delicious. Room well maintained with a superb bathroom. Huge bath and large walk-in shower. At front so a bit of road noise but not an issue. Only minor downside is that the outside seating area isn’t the most pleasant - basically on the carpark/road.

We had a lovely two-night stay. The room, though compact, was perfect for our short visit, featuring thoughtful touches like a variety of teas and daily cleaning. The modern bathroom offered a spacious feel with a powerful hot shower, and the attentive bar staff made our first evening enjoyable. The food was really good in the restaurant below the rooms. - I had chicken and vegetables kebabs in a bed of couscous which was bursting with flavour and hubby had the double steak burger which filled him up nicely! The only downside was some dust and cobwebs in the bedroom, which affected our overall review.

Lovely room, small but adequate with amazing shower. Only downside was the generator noise or air conditioning unit noise. We still managed a good night sleep. Excellent food in the restaurant. Will definitely return.

Bit disappointed. Place seemed a bit dingier than advertising pictures. Even though check in advertised at 4 pm. The place was locked up with someone arriving just after 4 pm to let guests check in. The feel on arrival was not very welcoming. Things had also changed during the week since booking as to how the place was run. Cut backs on staffing and the menu. The menu advertised on line and outside was not the same. Instructions in the rooms need updating. With the changes. The type of pie wanted by 2 of our guests had run out. Only to hear a shirt while later that they had found 2 for a couple of other guests. This place appears to need refurbishing and making more inviting and welcoming, no ambience. Felt sorry for the member of staff who was left to deal with telling guests they weren’t getting what they were expecting

Sorry, we don't seem to have had same experience as a lot of people staying at the Fenwick. Not the worst place we have stayed at by any means. In fact, we were generally happy. Apart from:

Stand-in male manager- not very personable.
Room was right on main road - traffic from about 05:00 was very noisy indeed plus, every time a lorry passed (and there were lots), the radiator rattled like crazy.
Room needs a fresh lick of paint / good hoover. Generally, hotel seems to be starting to look a bit tired.

Female manager, on duty on morning of our check out was absolutely lovely!!
Food was good.
Bed was very comfortable.
Prices were very fair.

Would we stay again. Sorry, but no, I don't think so.

Lovely nights stay, very comfortable bed and large bathroom with great shower. Both rooms extremely clean with water and coffee making facilities. Great value and would stay again.

Lovely little quaint hotel up near the Lake District and only 20mins out of Lancaster. No bother from the staff. The stay was easy and the rooms were beautiful. Absolutely will recommend and bring friends next time 😁

We visited for an evening meal and it was really lovely. The service is a lovely relaxed pace it’s really welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks menu had a wide variety. Some of the best pub food weve ever had Good value for money. A must if you’re visiting the area!
