On 16th June we stayed one night in the very level car park in our motorhome. It was really quiet after the pub had closed and, apart from the dawn chorus about 3am, and our kitty snoring, the only other disturbance was when the traffic started up on the nearby road at about 6am.||||Now, to the pub...||This is a traditional pub and you can only expect them to make so many adaptations for wheelchair users without seriously affecting the character of the pub. At the rear, from the beer garden area, there are steps into the pub. At the front the main entrance is relatively step free, in that there is a drop of about two inches or less as you enter. Due to the narrow entrance it was impossible for my wife to drive her chair backwards in order to negotiate that drop when we left. Other than that she could get through the internal double doors when they were both opened.||Note to owners....||levelling off the small drop would make entry and egress so much easier for wheelchair users.||||Once inside, there was a table set up for us close to the entrance; that was really easy for my wife to access and use.||||She could not access the toilets as they were on a slightly higher level, without a ramp. That said, I was forewarned about that when I booked. It wasn't such an inconvenience for us as we could have used our motorhome outside.||||Now, the service and food...||From entering to leaving we experienced excellent service, particularly from the fella behind the bar; I think his name was Craig. Nothing was too much trouble for him.||He introduced me to Timothy Taylor's Landlord, and I must say, the licencees keep it very well; that first pint went down so well, as did the second, then the third!||||The food...||I had pan fried salmon with sautรฉed potatoes, in a light sweet chilli sauce. I'm not a heat lover, but this was delicately spiced and suited my pallete. My wife had the pan fried chicken in Diane sauce, and she said it was melt-in-the-mouth delicious. In themselves, the portion sizes were good, but add to that the perfectly cooked sides of vegetables, and the excellent hand cut chips, neither of us had any room for dessert.||||When travelling up this way again in our motorhome we will certainly look at staying here, perhaps having breakfast.

Had a lovely stay this weekend. Really comfy bed. We had an evening meal and breakfast both days. The food was lovely and great portions! I particularly enjoyed my eggs florentine. The staff were really helpful. We were there for a gig at the open air theatre and it was easy getting a taxi there and back. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back next year.

Great friendly welcome & service. Had fish & chips & many many drinks before going to our room. Room 6 is situated on the ground floor, well equipped, good decor & clean. Woke after a good night's sleep & went for the included breakfast. Like the options available & was able to request & build my own Full English. Food was excellent... 10/10.

We booked for Sunday lunch and took our dog Teddy.
The staff were brilliant - moved us to a quieter corner so Ted couldn't try to eat people's yorkshire puds ๐Ÿคฃ
The food was amazing, fresh, cooked to perfection, plenty to eat , the yorkshires were definitely a show stopper - no wonder Ted wanted one -
Would definitely go again ๐Ÿ˜Š

Food ok though sadly not the best bistro pub culinary experience I'd have hoped for, a little cliquey and that 'league of gentleman vibe' as an aftertaste upon leaving which is never a good sign, otherwise we met some interesting people and like the area so definitely a learning curve!
