A great place to stay! We were here on the first day of a 3-day walking Pilgrimage and it was perfect for us. Dinner was filling and yum, really comfortable space in the dining room, and the staff were friendly and helpful. |The room was great - it was a twin room and we were able to brin my dog - she was also well treated and welcomed! Very comfortable bed, and the room was a good size for us. |All was clean and well-maintained.|Huge and delicious breakfast meant that we were sell set up for our first day's walking! |Staithes itself is gorgeous - we arrived to bright sun and blue sky, and were pleased to be able to walk the 5 minutes down to the harbour and sit in the sun with a lager. Big hill on the way back up! |Would highly recommend - thanks so much to all the staff!

Absolutely amazing service and food! We were so well looked after by everyone, I have never left a review before but felt I had to as the owners and all the staff were just amazing and couldn't do enough for us. We had sat outside as we have a big bonkers staffie but the wind got up and they came to tell us there was a table tucked out the way and it was perfect. The portions were huge, it was amazing value and the food was equally amazing as the service!

Avoid – don’t stay here

We had an extremely disappointing stay at the Captain Cook Inn. Aside from being tired, not particularly clean and in need of refurbishment, it’s appallingly and unprofessionally run. Back in March, I booked a family room (direct, via their website) for a stay in June at a cost of £150. When we arrived we were shown to a double room with one bed (rate: £100) and told that this was our only option as the hotel was otherwise fully booked. The manager was off but the duty manager admitted this was unacceptable and offered to lay out a camp bed in the room. Since we were tired after a day’s walking along the coastal path, and there are very few accommodation options in Staithes, we decided to stay. I asked for the £50 we had overpaid to be refunded but was told that I had to contact a third party for this to be actioned.

Checking the terms and conditions after our trip, I discovered that this is untrue – the accommodation is solely responsible for delivery of accommodation services and if it fails to honour a booking, the liability for any price differential lies with them.

In the weeks since our stay I have tried numerous times to get in touch with the hotel, by phone and by email, but phone calls go straight to answerphone message I’ve had no response by email. Very poor.

We had a very pleasant one night’s stay due to our holiday cottage not being serviced. We had delicious fish & chips, a comfy bed and excellent full English breakfast. The staff were pleasant and friendly. A good end to a bad day. Our dog was made very welcome too

Lovely location pub.
(Doesn't open until 4pm, food service from 5pm).

Ordered a bottle of budweiser and a pint of Guinness (total cost £9.80).

We called in when the pub first opened so it was very quiet.

Juke box had a few credits on which I loved.
Toilet were lovely and clean.

Pub is a little outdated, but the location is lovely.
