The hotel is rated 3 stars, but it's clean and comfortable, and the rooms are freshly decorated. Decent tea and coffee making facilities and everything else you need for a comfortable stay. The bar is reasonably priced, and the restaurant food of a high standard, in fact, the breakfast, which i had smoked haddock and poached eggs was first class, 5 star!

Thankfully we had only booked for one night. Don't think it has any money spent on since the day it opened.taps rusty in bathroom.the furniture in bedroom very old and marked.carpets on stairs falling to pieces could catch your shoes in them .only thing it has going for it is breakfast and parking.

As an overall experience it was extremely good. The hotel is quite old but pretty well maintained. The food was excellent. I had dinner and breakfast. Staff are wonderful. The only slight downside was a small shower but it was very clean, as was the room. Excellent value for money.

Extremely disappointed with the service and the room had plumbing issues. Also the heating was quite a lot especially for the temperature outside. Just not quite a 3 star as advertised. I understand the heritage of the property but better service or any service would have been appreciated

Grim. Room would have been dated 20 years ago. Only light in the bathroom is on the mirror. Walls are yellowed and grimy. Weird smell. Bed is hard and pillows are like concrete. Scared to shut the window - the frames are rotten and it may well fall out.

Very outdated rooms with broken chair, wallpaper hanging off, shower useless, wifi slow and poor lighting in a tiny bathroom. Would not stop here again. On the plus side, although the room was terrible, it was clean. Staff very very good but were unable to help wirh the room issues

Evening meal was very good. Bit difficult to find the entrance on car park after turning left off main road due to watching g for other traffic.
