Opinions

Guests have praised the genuine warm welcome and good level of attentive service provided at this relatively modest guest house. The location is also a major plus, with walks along the river and to the local village shop/pub. The chip shop and takeaways are relatively local and a good location from which to explore wider Norfolk, albeit western rather than central/local.

Conclusion

For those looking for a peaceful and welcoming stay in a beautiful riverside location, Riverbank Guest House is an excellent choice. With its various room types, comfortable amenities, and delicious breakfast options, it is a great option for couples, families, and solo travelers alike.

We stayed for two nights. It is a simple guesthouse, beautifully located by a river. The owner was friendly and service-oriented. The price was very reasonable.

We had a stay here for a night when we visited Norfolk to see Tulips. All necessary details have been shared by Victoria after the booking is made. Both Victoria & Liz were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious and clean. It also had a river view. Free & stable WiFi. Continental breakfast was included in the price. Cooked breakfast costs a little extra and can be paid while buying it. Free parking either near the entrance or at their overflow parking which is only a few steps away. I will definitely revisit when needed.

This B&B on the river Ouse has everything one could want for a short term stay. We had room 9 looking out over the bridge and river. The decor and furnishings were all clean, bright, and modern, Great thought must have been given to providing every last thing one could wish for. The continental breakfast puts other B&B's to shame. There is a great choice of baked items, including croissants. Plus there are are good choice of cereals. We can't recommend this place too highly.|

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Riverbank Guest House. It was located at the end of a beautiful bridge. There were two very old churches across the river, our room overlooked both churches, the bridge and the river. There were many flowers and the lilacs were in full bloom, the fragrance was overpowering… lilacs are one of my favorite fragrances. The fee was modest and included a continental breakfast in a very nice dining room. For a small fee Victoria would make prepare a cooked, hot, full English breakfast. The outside of the building is stone and the building is older like the rest of the town: but, the interior of the building was very modern, new, clean and well maintained. We visited the ruins of the nunnery and the church across the river. The church across the river (St. Germans Parish Church) is still in use and is quite beautiful inside. The pews had intricate carvings of the seven deadly sins and at one time had a doomsday painting over the altar which has been long since painted over. We met the local priest who rang the bell for morning prayers.

If you are visiting north of London, this is a very central location to see many castles and other interesting sites from. We visited the Yorkshire Dales and Pinnines from here as well as sights to the south and east. There was more to see than we had days to see them.

Lovely little village in the Norfolk countryside. Riverbank is comfortable, host is welcoming and really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and snacks available to help yourself in the evening. Microwave available if you wanted to heat up food after a day out exploring. Tea and coffee, milk in room on arrival with chocolates which was a nice touch. Pub over the bridge has reopened but not yet doing food, they said it's coming soon! All in all a great stay and we'll be back.

Had the loveliest stay!! The room was spotless and fresh. Our room was double aspect, so had the most gorgeous views. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful!!
Victoria (and Portly the doggy) were the perfect hosts...attentive, yet discreet, with great local knowledge.
The only reason I scored the room 4* was due to a fault in the shower...however it was dealt with quickly and a solution found that rectified the issue post haste!
