A wonderful friendly place.
Service was great as well as the locals making us feel very welcome, greeting us as they walked in.
The usual chef was on annual leave and a stand in Thai Chef was on hand to provide service. What a treat! The Thai food was second to none! Truly outstanding. Highly recommend for a fun and friendly pint too.

We had a wonderful meal at the laughing fish for mother's day. The pub is cosy and has a great atmosphere with outdoor seating for the sunny weather. The staff were welcoming and friendly with brilliant service. The food was amazing with a very varied menu with lots of choices! We can't wait to return to try the Thai menu which looks delicious! Thanks for having us 😊

A group of 8 of us went for a birthday meal , we had only booked for six of us, but when we phoned up to increase it to 8 they were very accommodating. They have a normal menu and a Thai menu, most of us went for the the Thai option of which some of the things we had were Duck spring rolls, Sesame prawn toast, Roasted duck curry and I had the Pad Thai which I can honestly say was the best Pad Thai I have ever had and the rest of the food was amazing too. The service was lovely with them checking up that everything was okay at points throughout the meal., we would thoroughly recommend trying either menu as having eaten here before both are great.

Fantastic venue for Sunday lunches and well cooked food throughout the week. Located next to a steam railway station. The team are friendly and welcoming and there are lots of regulars here, plenty of parking found to the side of the pub, which extends based on frequent volumes.
Definitely recommend booking, particularly for Sunday lunches and we like the fact that food is all sourced from local farms and producers!

Other establishments should send their people to this awesome gastro pub for training on preparing such good food and serving it in such a helpful, warm, friendly and hospitable manner.

The staff and owner were only too pleased to accommodate with every one of our requests.

Restaurant prices, bedsit cooking. Menu needs plant protein options, 'vegetables' has not been an interesting alternative since the 1980s. The £16 non-meat burger was tough and tasteless like frozen from a supermarket, served in a fluffy white bun, dull. The £16 pad Thai egg noodles lacked any flavour, any sauce and any egg. The broccoli was brown and expired, the cauliflower cooked to mush. Staff imaginatively claimed it had invisible egg in tiny pieces. They then brought an oily egg but there was no sign of yolk and it was fried in meat juices and black meat residue so the chef clearly not tolerant of vegans or people hoping to get what they paid for. A nightmare for anyone wanting flavour, non meat protein or better than supermarket food experience. An effort was made with a decorative uncooked swede although it was not edible so would all end up in the bin. Staff seemed not to appreciate feedback but hopefully they'll use it to improve.

An impromptu decision to have lunch out led us to the Laughing Fish. Haven't been here since before the pandemic and I knew it had changed hands. It's split into two halves, a restaurant half which is pleasantly lightly decorated and a bar room style without much change. Good choice of beers with guest local ales. Food menu seemed initially a bit on the high side but when the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes which were large and definitely worth the money. Also the food tasted great and my pie was stuffed full of meat. Proper pub grub. The staff were also very friendly and I'm looking forward to returning to this great little village pub. Highly recommended.
