We booked for lunch with family. Such a lovely welcome and very relaxed atmosphere. We all had different meals and each one was really delicious. There is so much choice on the menu and specials board to cater for everyone's taste. I can't wait to pop back in and try the roast dinner.

Another trip to the 'Queen of Sunday Roasts' but this time a midweek visit.
Did not disappoint...steak, herb cod and pork wellington...yum! Sensible portions, great service, tasty food and good beer.
We will definitely be back!

Bar and restaurant review. Never stayed at the hotel.
11th May 2025. Wanted some food and we were staying down the road at Blackmore Farm. It was close so we thought we would go for food.
We walked in. The barman was standing by the till with no customers at the bar, so overall very very quiet. We stood at the bar till waiting about 2ft from the barman. He completely ignored us for about 4-5 minutes. Didn't even acknowledge us, when he did he just looked at us with the kind of face that usually proceeds a fight, and simply said 'what'.
We asked about food and he rudely pointed towards the side area and muttered about ordering at the bar.....No thanks. Ill give our money to someone who can be bothered to be polite and courteous. Absolutely abysmal customer service. So definitely wont be going here again.

I was met with rather an abrupt bar staff when I asked if they were serving food.

I ordered the large fish and chips, and when it was served, it looked really good. BUT, when you cut into the crispy outside batter, there was raw batter underneath, and the star of the show, the fish was hiding. The fish was small inside, watery, and tasteless, which was such a shame.

Called in on the off chance for a Sunday lunch for 2 yesterday, surprisingly not too busy as it was a lovely (but cold) sunny day.
My wife`s pork loin 5/5, was very good and my lamb tumbler?4.5/5, (shredded lamb rolled into a ball?) was different but tasty, a downside for me (maybe my age?) I don`t like places that spray a table to clean them as I noticed the bar and our table was tacky, not dirty, but the placemats and my elbows were stuck to the surfaces, again, not dirty but a bugbear for me when we visit bars/restaurants that clean this way.
