Room was ok, service from the front desk was very good. Outside looks a bit dated and a lick of paint wouldn’t go a miss. Do be aware this Premier Inn DOES NOT HAVE AIR-CON. Also be aware there are no Twin Rooms on the ground floor. Parking is plentiful.

Friendly and welcoming team, blown away by the welcome we recieved: we opted for the Plus room as it was during the heat wave and wanted the treat of air con. Room was great, clean and bed was very comfy. |Hotel is just off motorway but I couldn’t hear any noise throughout the night unless we opened the windows but even then it wasn’t loud. Would recommend

I had a very disappointing experience at Premier Inn Carlisle M6 J42, particularly with the condition of Room 17, of which cost well over £120 for a night.||||There was black mould growing on the bathroom ceiling, several spiders in the room, and spider webs hanging above the bed. These issues made the stay very uncomfortable and appear to have aggravated my hay fever, likely due to the presence of mould.||||As I had an early checkout the following morning, and was unable to find any staff at reception during a previous attempt, I could not report the issues in person at the time. I later submitted feedback through the official Premier Inn website and was advised that I should have tried multiple times at reception or used my personal phone to call—which, frankly, seems an unreasonable expectation for a hotel guest, especially when reception should be staffed or accessible.||||I hope this feedback encourages a more active approach to cleanliness and guest support, particularly in ensuring rooms are safe and healthy to stay in.

There seems to be mixed reviews so as someone who regularly stays in much more upmarket hotels Id like to offer some balanced comments.||We found reception and the house keeping staff both friendly and attentive. Our premier-plus room was spotless spacious and comfortable. The rooms appeared to have had recent upgrades. It was a very convenient location for starting our visit to Hadrian’s Wall. However there was traffic noise with our window open because it is sandwiched between two major roads.||We ate an evening meal in the Beefeater which was convenient & tasty but basic. Service on a Sunday was slow. We didn’t eat breakfast there as we chose an early start to Lanercost Priory where there is a great cafe.||Our main criticism would be of the EV chargers which are independent of Premier Inn but on site for hotel guests. They cost 83p per kwh. They also charge £10 per 90minute excess stay and in our case this was wrongly calculated and meant seeking a refund after our holiday. Take a photo of the signage and instructions as you may need them as evidence if you need to challenge any charge made.||The Tebay service station on M6 is much more efficient with super quick EV chargers especially if you are aTesla user.||Would we stay again? Yes!

The room was very nicely decorated. Considering having the premier plus rooms, it was very nice and comfortable. I loved the lighting. Shower was lovely and most importantly it was very clean. Plenty of parking and good location. Easy checkin.

Room was clean and very welcoming, there were little sweets and bubbles put on the bed for our children which was very thoughtful and made their day. The reception staff couldn't have been nicer 🙂 rooms a bit stuffy with no air conditioning but the fan worked a treat 🙂

Staff at reception very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and tidy. Nice quiet location away from town. Food at Beefeater was great. We travelled from Cornwall to Scotland and stopped here. Would recommend staying!

The aptly numbered Room 101, the room where dreams of a good night sleep go to die. ||||Stayed during a hot spell on June and the room was extremely hot, stale and stuffy. The window was extremely small, about 8-12 inches tall and did not lend well to getting fresh air into the room.||||The room is right next to the main door for the corridor, which meant that the door slammed through the night as it closed behind other guests. That combined with the noise from the motorway and the stifling trapped heat in the room made for a very poor experience. ||||We complained to reception in the morning and were told to call the main line to try and get a refund which was refused.
