My partner and I stayed one night at Anvil House during a touring holiday of Scotland. The room was nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed and all the facilities you would expect in a good guest room. The bathroom was very big, and had a decent shower. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Ample parking, and convenient location. Out of the four places we stayed on our trip (including a four-star hotel) this was my favourite, and has completely converted me to the benefits of staying in a guest house rather than a branded hotel!

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Anvil House while I was in Gretna visiting the fantastic Anvil Hall Wedding Venue. The quality and standard of decor in the rooms would not disgrace any 5 star hotel. The welcome from Christine was very friendly and helpful which made our stay feel like a home from homeand not forgeting the full scottish breakfast, wow, the food was fantastic. Dont stay in a bland box hotel when you can have this charm and quality.

Stayed for two nights in August 2010, very warm and welcolming, clean, fresh, helpful and very friendly. Much more than we expected for a guest house, modern! great nights sleep, perfrect location for Anvil Hall wedding venue and Smiths Hotel ( where the wedding reception was) due to it being in the middle. Close to the shopping outlet.

Stayed here for 2 nights on 7-8th of July, it's a lovely, comfortable little place with very friendly, nice hosts,Who like to make sure you don't leave their house hungry in the morning. ideally situated in the town,you don't need to walk very far. Very nice

first room smelt of smoke,was offered bridal sweet,was better but ruined our stay by first impression.breakfast was ok but have had better.location excellent for visiting visitor centre,bit tight by side of house for parking

what a gem of a place...owners are fab very helpful of places to visit. place and room was spotless. location is ideal...close to everything to do with gretna, esp gretna shopping outlet!! will certainly recommend and visit again 🙂

We stayed at this bed and breakfast while touring the area looking at wedding venues.||The rooms are immaculately clean and decorated/furnished to a very high standard.||Christine arrived to cook breakfast at 08.30 as we,d arranged, and cooked a full scottish breakfast which was delicious.||The bed and breakfast is directly opposite the train station and a five minute walk from all the local shops, hotels etc.||We have already booked this bed and breakfast again for our stay in gretna next year and would highly reccommend it to others looking for a quiet place to stay.

Clean and tidy staff very friendly and helpful good location bed was a bit uncomfortable modern decor well worth a stay !
