We stayed here after our wedding and were joined by our family. Lodges were perfect, beds so cozy, hot tub and spa/treatments were great. Our view was wonderful (especially from the hot tub). Donna really went out of her way to make our stay extra special (especially for the two dogs). 100% will be back. Fantastic getaway for dog parents.

Stayed at Mountain View Lodges and Spa with my partner for a birthday getaway, and it was the perfect escape. The cabin was beautiful – stylish, spotless, and so comfortable – and the private hot tub was just the icing on the cake.

We spent the evening relaxing with a glass of red wine by the fire pit, soaking in the peaceful surroundings. It was such a calm and romantic atmosphere, with stunning views and total privacy.

The spa facilities looked amazing too – we didn’t book treatments this time, but it’s definitely on the list for our next visit. Everything about the place feels luxurious yet laid-back.

If you're looking for a relaxing break in the heart of nature, I’d absolutely recommend Mountain View. Can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely Dreadful Stay - Avoid at All Costs!

Our recent stay at this resort was an absolute nightmare from start to finish, and I feel completely misled as none of the significant issues were disclosed during booking. This was by far the worst accommodation experience I've ever had.

Let's start with the most shocking detail: the toilet was located outside our room and was shared with other guests. The owner lied about this being advertised, and when we raised the issue, he had the audacity to say, "for the price for the stay we're lucky to be getting what we get" and "I put £800k in it you're lucky to be paying that price."

Inside the room, the problems continued. The chairs were broken with wobbly legs, making them unusable and unsafe. The mattress was incredibly springy and uncomfortable and the bedside cabinet literally had burn marks, the paint was peeling and it was falling apart.

The "private" hot tub was anything but, offering absolutely no privacy whatsoever. To top it off, the showers had dirty towels left in them upon arrival, and there was no sanitary bin in the bathroom, despite the owner's false claim that there was. Finally, there was no WiFi available, despite it being a standard expectation in most accommodations today.

When we tried to get a refund as we left the property upon arrival due to the issues, the owner was extremely rude and dismissive, accusing us of "purposely booking on a cheap night and coming in demanding unreasonable expectations." This level of unprofessionalism and disregard for guest comfort is appalling.

It's clear that this hotel is in a state of serious disrepair and lacks fundamental guest services. The fact that none of these critical issues were disclosed at the time of booking, coupled with the owner's appalling attitude, is dishonest and completely unacceptable.

Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere.

Beautiful setup but customer service and attention to detail certainly lacking, which is a pity considering how much potential this place has. I had to chase the staff multiple times before our stay. We were not able to avail of a spa special due to this. We arrived at 18:30, understandably there was noone to help us check in but a key wasn't made available to us. Thankfully the cabin was open. A lady, who we assume is staff but she never introduced herself, later spoke to us rather abruptly and said she'd find a key. We never heard from her again throughout our stay. We chased for a key the following afternoon from another staff member but the door wouldn't lock from the inside. We sadly spent both nights with unlocked doors which was unsettling. The towels and the welcome book need updating and some minor repairs are needed. That all said, the location and facilities including the jacuzzi were lovely. I hope the owners are able to just make some of these small improvements to make this place truly stunning.

Regulars here but has went downhill very quickly - Glassware etc dirty, no WiFi access and bedding was dirty. Ordered breakfast and had to wait 90 minutes after it was due to arrive to then be given it 5 minutes before checkout with no acknowledgment or apology as it was delivered. Lovely rooms let down by poor service on.

Be very very careful when booking here, or don't book at all! I booked and unfortunately had to unavoidably postpone my trip. After multiple calls, texts and emails, they would not provide alternative dates and to say I am getting the runaround to get a refund is an understatement. It has been a shocking experience and I'd recommend that you avoid the stress!

Location is beautiful very remote with beautiful views however guests should know that you are more or less left to your own devices with no staff on site. There are phone numbers but it can take a while for a staff member to come . Our hut had a communal bathroom which I really wouldn't mind but the sink was tiny and the water came out as a trickle. There was also damp spots on the corner of the cabin , I totally realise this can happen in a wooden hut but at the prices being charged I just feel these things should b checked. The bunk beds also had a few loose screws which was dangerous and unsecured. There was glass around our hot tub which we didn't notice until the next day thank goodness our child and us avoided it the night before in the dark. There was also a collection of cigarette butt's in a pot at our door , we smoke ourselves so I am by no means being snobby just at the prices being charged people should be aware of these things. The bar is marked as a communal area however when we went in there was still sandwiches and cups sitting from when someone had afternoon tea. The robes also had holes in them and curtains on the windows would be helpful, eventhough there is blinds there is a window at the top of the bed which shines light into your face all night.

My daughters and myself spent 1 night in "Anna's rest" one of the cabins at mountain view lodges.
We were a bit disappointed to find that out hot tub was quite a walk from the cabin, not ideal as most of the other cabins the hot tubs were in the gardens attached.
The parking is practically non existing and the overflow carpark, which would be considered the main carpark, had a large tractor parked and a slurry spreader at the other side leaving very little room to manoeuver getting out.
The cabin itself was clean and stocked for 2 people, there were 3 of us. We had to use the sofa bed and the mattress on this had seen better days. Overall it was a pleasant stay, though the walk to the hot tub was very inconvenient.
