My wife and I have stayed here 3 times now, we absolutely love the place. The rooms are quirky, warm and so inviting. We love the fact this is a lovingly and respectfully restored farm building, grown-ups and kids will have a great time discovering all the surprising features dotted around. The beds are cloud soft and we always sleep well - there is little traffic too, making this the ultimate place to get away from it all. I love that they supply little luxuries like dressing-gowns and slippers, it makes you feel very welcome and pampered. The round living room is truly impressive with stunning views, and would make an ideal space for kids and parties. A pool table would probably go down well and there is plenty of room for one :)||||Towels and bedding always crisp white, bathrooms spotless with excellent showers/bath and the kitchen is very clean and well-appointed. Blackford is situated within and hour or two of cities and beautiful Scottish country and sea-side and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely place.

The owner is very friendly and attentive to the needs of the guests. It is in a lovely location with lovely views of surrounding mountains and fields. Seen deer, rabbits, peasants etc during our brief stay. The accommodation was spacious and well heated with all the amenities required. The main room was stunning. Would definitely stay again.

Had a week with the family in the larger of the two cottages in April 2013. The property is very spacious and has a lovely, homely feel, somewhere between a farmhouse and a cottage. The circular lounge, a former horse barn, is huge, with 270 degree views across the countryside, and five sofas to spread out and relax. The kitchen/diner is large and well-equipped, and the bedrooms are all very comfortable. The showers work well. A perfect place to come back to after a busy day.||The location is very central, close to the A9 (but no traffic noise) and of course perfect for golfers (we are not) being so close to Gleneagles. There are good restaurants nearby in Auchterarder, Muthill, and Crieff, although the cottage is also a very pleasant place to self-cater in the evenings. The owners, who live in the adjacent farmhouse, were friendly and helpful.||If you are looking for a base for visiting central Scotland, Panholes is really very hard to beat.

We stayed with another family for a week. The cottage is beautiful and very clean. The beds are so comfy. The grounds and views are fabulous, with rabits and red kites every day. The location is a brilliant base for visiting lochs and towns. The owners were fantastic friendly and helpful throughout. Cant fault our stay. Would go back tomorrow. Highly recommend it.

The house, which can be split into two separate cottages, is excellent in every way. By far the most impressive feature is the large round living room area which used to be the old barn/mill area. There are two kitchens if you hire the whole house and more than enough space for 12 people. The views outside are lovely and the outside area would be stunning when the weather is good (always a lottery in Scotland!) The only complaint I would have is that the Wifi was consistently poor/weak meaning that we couldn't use the Sonos system for our new year party. Overall, this is a great place for a large gathering for family and/or friends.

We spent an idyllic Christmas week at The Roundhouse. The cottage far exceeded our expectations in every way. In fact we loved it so much that we've already booked to go back!||||There were 9 of us altogether, comfortably accommodated in the 4 bedrooms; one smallish double with en-suite, one large double, one large twin (into which Ruth had kindly put an extra bed for a child) plus a bunk room.||||The real feature of the cottage is the huge living room in the roundhouse part. This was perfect as a gathering place, lots of comfortable sofas, a magnificently decorated Christmas tree, large flat screen TV and so much space for the kids to set out their scalectrix and run around. We entertained relatives during the week and it never felt crowded, even with 17 people gathered together.||||Ruth and John, the friendly owners who live next door in the farmhouse, were so welcoming and helpful. The place is very private though as the cottages have a completely separate entrance, large parking area and enclosed garden.||||Everything has been extremely well thought out, from bath robes to really decent showers, central heating, super kitchen, free Wi-Fi, utility room with washer and drier, in fact everything you could possibly need. The decor is lovely; all very nicely decorated and furnished in a contemporary country style.||||The situation near Blackford was ideal for us as it meant easy access to the A9, Perth 20 mins in one direction and Stirling about 15 mins in the other. You can easily walk the mile or so into the village across a field, and there is a small visitor centre with shops plus a newsagent. Nearby Auchterarder has everything you could need day-to-day including a good Co-op supermarket.||||The world famous Gleneagles Hotel is very close; in fact the edge of the golf course is right across the lane. We did hope to go to the Christmas Eve fireworks at the hotel but the wind and the driving rain put us off! In fact the weather was truly appalling for the whole week, but that gave us the perfect excuse not to go out!

My wife and I recently completed a three week tour of Scotland and stayed three nights at Panholes. It took a few extra minutes to find as it is off the beaten track, but once we did we were immediately impressed. Originally out houses to a farmhouse, the two cottages here have been renovated in a most impressive way. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage and it was fabulous from the moment we walked in.There was everything you needed; a laundry room, bright and sparkling ensuite bathrooms in both bedrooms, a large fully equipped kitchen with gas range, a large living room with TV and internet access and a stunning location with views of the fields, a golf course and a mega city of rabbits burrowing in nearby sand hills that kept me entertained on a few occasions. Blackford is a lovely town and within easy reach of Sterling where you can see the castle and the amazing Wallace Monument. Panholes Cottages are highly recommended and we hope to go there again one day!

Pinholes is in a beautiful location set in the countryside. The rooms are all spacious and very clean. The huge kitchen and dining area is perfect for our family meals and the roundhouse is wonderful for fun and games in the evening. A perfect place. We have stayed many times and will continue to visit for many years to come.
