Perfect pub and accommodation. Stayed here for a night as a holiday stopover. Our room over-looked the beer garden, was very clean and fresh and had everything we needed. We had a neal in the evening which was lovely as was breakfast. The bar is beautifully decorated and we felt very welcome
Nikki and her husband are fantastic hosts along with head of fun, Jasper. Great food. Great hosts and a great night's sleep in a very comfy bed, what more do you need. Looking forward to a return visit.

Good sized room and en suite, Mattress needs upgrading and the electric shower just isn't up to the job.
Service good when it was there but too often looking for someone to serve.
The food we had was good but the menus for dinner and breakfast are geared to make the kitchens job easier which left the choices a little lacking.

No food and rude. We booked a table for a family meal weeks before. Didn't make it clear when we got these that they had no sunday roasts, so only 4 limited menu items. They weren't particularly helpful about the food options, they could have maybe offered their normal daily menu. We were then leaving to go and then all of a sudden there was some meat but only mash to go with it. Unfortunately we were already leaving to go elsewhere.
As we had booked they could have called to take pre bookings or warned about the lack of food. Would not go back.

We went for dinner from a stay we booked in gleneagles. Im from scotland but have lived in dubai for 12 years. I was craving a homely pub, lovely lunch and cosy place to feel scottish again - nicky & her husband didnt fail to deliver nothing but excellence. So welcoming, caring, and food was absolutely top notch - what i will dream of when back in dubai! We will b back in november. We really appreciate all the magic u have created, thanks for making our mini vacay so memorable!! Xx

Where do I start... When the new owners took over a few years back.. They took on a shell.... Now they have transformed that shell into a thriving local pub and restaurant. It has been amazing to see the transformation of the local pub and the amazing staff that now work there. If you want some where to go for a quite drink... Good food..... Or just to chill and laugh this is the place

We had an amazing 2 night stay at the Smiddy.||We had eaten here before and the food was always exceptional, so. Was lovely to have an room for our weekend away ||The room was absolutely spotless, and a very comfortable bed for a great night sleep.||2 comfy chairs also to relax and watch TV.||Breakfast was excellent with produce that was evidently local and good quality.||We ate there both nights, as previously said we knew the food was exceptional, and good value for money.||Jasper is of course the most wonderful host. 🐕🐕🐾🐾||Looking forward to visiting again

Started here for 3 nights as part of a golf trip. Absolutely perfect set up and well run with great food and friendly service, would definitely stay again on our next trip

After getting the opportunity to play at Gleneagles golf course, we looked on TA for decent local accommodation.||The Smiddy Haugh had great reviews , so we booked in using Booking.com. The booking was easy and communication prior to our stay was easy and quick through the app. ||We were met by Niki who welcomed us as we entered the bar, and explained where the best place to park was (round the rear of the property). She then showed us to our room and gave us details for breakfast the following morning. ||We had a twin room , with comfy beds, a decent shower and had good nights sleep. ||We enjoyed the evening in the restaurant / bar area , enjoying many pints of Ossian and starters of soup , and a seriously nice Cullen Skink . Mains of burgers and Scampi were also good . Service from Rich and Niki was really friendly and swift. All the people in the bar were friendly and happy to chat, sharing tips for our day’s golf to come. ||Breakfast , pre-ordered the evening before, was hot, tasty and a decent size .||Overall this is a really friendly, cosy place to stay with great food and service, brilliantly positioned a couple of miles from Gleneagles.||Highly Recommended!
