Very friendly owners, our room was immaculate and very well thought out, difficult to beat that view. Unique hotel, who needs to go to the States! Our breakfast was first class, nice to find a hotel who can actually cook a tattie scone and black pudding properly! Nice to have live music unfortunately they couldn't sing, hope they played for free! Would definitely return, good luck to you!

This is the first time my husband and I have visited Bute, so we have no experience of any other hotels on the island. We booked for four nights at the Cadillac Kustomz, as I remembered seeing it on TV a few years ago, and it looked good. It's a little way out of Rothesay, so we were pleased to see that the website stated that they have a diner. When we arrived, late afternoon, I asked about dinner and was told that the dining room and bar were closed, as it was low season. A pity that wasn't stated on the website. However, we were informed that there were plenty of local restaurants in Rothesay. We really didn't want to go out again, having been travelling all day, but did not have a choice. We got online and had a look at restaurants serving dinner, but bearing in mind that this was a Monday evening, there were very few open. We spent some time ringing around, but either got no response to our calls, or not favourable responses. One of the main hotels, which said it did serve dinner, contradicted that when my husband spoke to them and they told him that they wouldn't be opening their dining room just for two people. In the end, we drove to the local Co-op, bought some snack food and ate that in our bedroom. Not a great start to our few days on Bute. The same happened on Tuesday evening, but on the remaining two nights, when a few more restaurants were open, we ate at Ambience, in Rothesay, which was quite basic, but really welcoming, with good food and very pleasant service.||I must say that our bedroom at the Cadillac Kustomz was very nice, with a large bed and a beautiful view out to sea. The room was warm and immaculately clean, as was the bathroom and was serviced daily. Dressing gowns were supplied, as were plenty of clean towels. The price for Bed and Breakfast was very reasonable.||Breakfast at the hotel was ok.||We rarely saw the owners, apart from checking in. No one was around when we checked out. The gentleman who served breakfast always seemed in a hurry, but I am sure if we had any problems, someone would have been around to put them right.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It was the best value for money in the town I believe. It's clean and the owner is very friendly and welcoming always respectful with customers. We stayed in 55 and had a little problem with the shower nothing to complain about really but we couldn't turn down the temperature of the shower which was very hot. We thought the tunnocks tea cakes with tea in our room was a very nice touch. I would stay again and probably will this year sometime

Scottish Honky Tonks: A Slice of America with a Scottish Twist

Scottish Honky Tonks offers an unexpectedly authentic American diner experience, right in the heart of Scotland. From the moment you walk in, the decor immediately transports you to a classic roadside diner across the pond – think retro booths, neon signs, and walls adorned with Americana. The attention to detail is incredible, making the place feel like a genuine piece of Americana right by the Scottish waterfront.

The owner is one of the friendliest people you'll meet. During my visit, he was unfortunately quite understaffed, and you could sense his stress, but he still managed to offer warm hospitality and a smile. It was clear he cares deeply about his guests, and despite the challenges, he made sure everyone was well looked after. That personal touch really stood out.

The diner itself is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual meal with family or friends. The food was delicious – classic diner fare done right. From juicy burgers to perfectly seasoned fries, everything was fresh and flavorful. And for the quality of the food, the prices were fantastic – great value for money.

The location is another bonus. Being so close to the waterside adds a certain charm to the experience. After your meal, you can take a stroll by the water, enjoying the beautiful views, which adds a peaceful and scenic element to the overall visit.

In short, Scottish Honky Tonks is a delightful spot that blends American-style comfort food with Scottish hospitality. If you're looking for tasty food, a unique atmosphere, and great value, this diner is definitely worth a visit.

Extremely comfortable bed. Set in a beautiful location. It was a quiet area. Breakfast included gluten free choices. If you like Cadillacs you will love this place. We didn't eat an evening meal here but it was well organised and clean. It's a mile from ardbeg where the ferry is and lots of lovely eating places. Advise you book ahead if you're eating out
