Stuckdarach - Luxury Scottish Cottage Accommodation with Hot Tub - Arrochar

We booked Stuckdarach for a small family wedding, with the hope of being able to hold the ceremony on the shores of the Loch itself but with an eye on the weather and a backup back at the accommodation. Connor and Sammie could not have been more helpful in answering many questions in the weeks before and during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Eventually, facing the prospect of having to use our backup plan due to the high waters in the Loch, Connor suggested the perfect spot on the private beach available for Stuckgowan guests. Stuckdarach House was ideal for a small group, both in terms of accommodation and also as a venue for our wedding meal. The house was spacious and comfortable, with great features such as the impressive log burner in the lounge. Sammie and Connor added lots of small and welcoming touches around the house - eg flowers, shortbread, chocolates - creating a lovely atmosphere. A lovely property in a great location.

Very nice. We rented Stuckgowan (the big main house), Stuckdarach and the lodge at Stuckdarach and found all of them to be very comfortable and well set up. I think I preferred Stuckdarach as it is more modern but I’d be happy in any of them. The main road runs right alongside the house but there was no noise at night, and the surrounding countryside is of course beautiful. But bring all your own stuff, as there’s not much in shops anywhere near!

This is our second time at Stuckgowan. The house is finished to a very high standard and the rooms are all unique. For a large group who like to have a space to themselves and get some privacy this is great. The only issues with this place I would say are the rooms don’t lend themselves to open plan socialising. The kitchen is great but gets very hot when someone is cooking. The dining room/lounge get very smokey when the fire has been put on. This also made the rooms upstairs smell of smoke and clothes were smokey as a result. The sonos speaker system is great but could do with being updated to the newer system.

Nice food, friendly staff and service, reasonably priced and made most welcome even without prior booking. A welcome change to most places.
I'd book next time because it does get busy.
