This gorgeous hotel has been renovated and designed magnificently. It is stunning and a real joy to stay here. The restaurants and bars are fantastic and the food outstanding. Our bedroom was glorious, beautifully designed, very spacious and spotlessly clean and extremelycomfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and it really was a pleasure to stay. We will definitely return next year. Thank you

Very nice hotel. I don't display pictures because you get them on site already. Room was in perfect state. Bed was very large and comfy, many equipments such as kettle with tea and coffee, large TV screen, radio, hair dryer and a fan (to be noticed that there is no air conditioning). We had a room on the back of the hotel, very quiet.

A perfect 10! This is the nicest, most beautiful, comfortable, small hotel in the entire country of Scotland. The facilities were modern, while the appearance blended perfectly with the wee village. We ate in the Jacobite restaurant, hands down the best food we had on our 2 weeks in Scotland. The staff was friendly and met all our needs.

Stayed 2 nights at the Star Hotel Kingussie. Hotel had been refurbished to nice standard overall, comfy bed. We ate in the Jacobite Bar & Grill on the first night, the food was very average. Had the starter special, Calamari & Scampi, which consisted of 3-4 rings of breaded calamari & 3-4 pieces of breaded scampi which clearly looked out of a bag of frozen food. The second night we ate in the bar, again very average, I had bruschetta, which had a very soggy base and the tomatoes / veg was very plain. For main course ordered Fried chicken, this was very basic and again clearly looks to be out of a frozen packet. We has breakfast both mornings, coffee and orange juice was of poor quality as was the food. I ordered 2 x poached eggs with Scottish breakfast, one of the eggs was presented broken up on the plate. Going back to the room, no iron, no hair dryer and the milk was sour and did'nt look to have been changed or perhaps the very small fridge struggled to keep cool in the warm room. Also the room looked out onto the street which was noisy, not the hotels fault but there was an argument / fight taking place in the early hours probably after closing time in the hotels pub. Would I stay here again, definitely not.

Had a lovely 3 might stay here. Our room was spacious and sparkling clean. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was gorgeous. We enjoyed the walking around Kingussie on well made paths.

Obviously we would highly recommend staying with us at The Osprey if you can get a room, it's better value for money and with the savings you can dine at The Star !!

We came here for dinner during our recent stay in Kingussie and were very pleased to find that the hotel had a very pleasant bar and restaurant area that was not open last year when we were in the area. We were well looked after and the food was good. nothing fancy - just good! We would definitely return. Prices were average for this area and kind of establishment.

The restaurant was equally impressive! The menu featured a fantastic selection of gourmet dishes, each beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made excellent recommendations.
