What a wonderful trip! The cottage is very clean and well stocked, with lovely big windows and very comfortable beds. The location is amazing. We loved going out the back gate into the woods and walking into Boat of Garten, the woods are just gorgeous. Derek was very friendly and helpful prior to arrival, then gave us a courtesy call the first day then left us to it but we knew we could call if we needed anything. The little post office in the village is so much more than that and the people are really friendly. We had great meals at Anderson's and the pub. Lovely walk into Aviemore (approx 5 miles) from the cottage and got the bus back - they're not very often so check, but it turned up on time. We went in February and it was a lovely place to be in the winter but would like to go back in a different season to see the area from another perspective. If we do we would definitely book Glencoldon again.

Beautiful, well presented, clean and equipped cottage in a perfect location for accessing the amazing nature and landscapes of the Cairngorms. Appreciated the more eco friendly approach to tourism and the cycle friendly facilities too. Wood burning stove and a good supply of firewood was also very cosy and much appreciated. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, thank you.

This might be the best holiday rental we've ever stayed in. The cottage is both beautiful and cozy, featuring large windows, a stove that keeps the entire place wonderfully warm, and a peaceful natural setting. The amenities are also top-notch, with everything you could need—from a washing machine to a high chair and toaster. The Glencoldon Team has truly thought of everything.

On top of that, there’s been a tremendous effort to make your stay as eco-friendly as possible. From responsibly harnessing natural resources for heating and electricity to offering environmentally friendly cleaning products and a thorough recycling setup, the cottage is designed with sustainability in mind. We wholeheartedly recommend this cottage to anyone fortunate enough to visit this stunning part of the country.

We’ve now had two family holidays at Glencolden Cottage. It’s a beautiful house in a beautiful location, surrounded by lovely natural woodland - ideal for walks and wildlife. A gate leads from the garden directly into the woods at the rear of the property.
All the bedrooms are well decorated, comfy and spacious. The living room has wall-to- ceiling windows and a log burner. Very cosy, great natural light, and ideal for watching the red squirrels and many birds that visit the garden. It’s a great place to simply enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle, or alternatively it makes a super base to explore the Cairngorms from. There are many attractions within a short distance and Aviemore is only 10 minutes away. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful property; cozy, welcoming, very clean and comfortable. The setting is so peaceful and natural. Eco credentials are impressive and Derek was thoroughly communicative. Hours of beautiful walking right from the door with Boat of Garten a few minutes walk away and Aviemore close by.

Absolutely beautiful for those wanting a quiet place to stay surrounded by nature. I cannot fault the area or the cottage. Lovely walks from the doorstep, deer in the garden, fantastic views, pub at the end of the road, steam train rides a walk away. Absolute bliss.
