My partner and I were looking for a convenient place to stay with easy access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, and this was perfect! Despite their busy schedule, they managed to accommodate us, and getting there was so simple. The rooms were lovely, and the owner, Nicola, made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be revisiting and wish them a very Merry Christmas!

Stayed a couple of nights in this charming accomodation. The room was clean, comfortable and warm. No breakfast no problem clearly stated on booking.com so supplies were brought accordingly. Train station a stones throw away so great to explore the surrounding area. Highly recommend

Great place to stay. Very close to train station, half an hour ride to Edinburgh, 5 min walk to Asda. Friendly family, Nicola's husband advised us to use the train instead of drive to Edinburgh, Nicola's father is the nicest person I ever met😊 Lovely room, very cosy and comfortable. We had fantastic time at @tarrareoch rooms, thank you

Amazing place. Clean, warm, especially important on a winters evening. Owner of cottage not only cleared all cars in car park of snow, which was quite heavy fall, but cleared a path for me to get to my car because i have mobility issues. Lovely man who was welcoming and friendly.

Lovely warm welcome. Bedroom was very tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfy. Good sized TV and wifi worked well. Breakfast was tasty and the owner took time to chat. Very convenient from train station, just a half an hour ride from Edinburgh.

A great place to stay, comfortable , convenient and quick access to the motorway. Welcome was genuine and quickly shown to our room. Our bathroom was private but accessed via the corridor, which we knew, and was no problem. Dog friendly. Good local knowledge of local places to eat. Hope to visit again next year.

Staying in the mobile home, the host was really helpful and friendly , the place not that great, it did looked good the entrance where the living room is but once we sitted in the couch you can feel the wood, all the bathroom doors even if you put locks they opened , the kitchen is good space but the freezer is not working heats up the countertop, there was recycle rubbish left in some drawers from previous guests in the kitchen and none essentials left there just bad left overs and some random dishes , the shower was good but all the towels smelled like damp , the other rooms had some ventilation but wasn't very clean either and still smelled like damp. Not all the lighbulbs worked in both bedrooms, seems like need to get more cleaning and updated as all looks very antique , the view is not great as the plants in the back are not tidy , apart from all that the location is OK .

Great location, walking distance from station which is 30 mins into Edinburg city centre.
Main host Nicola was lovely.
This place has lots of potential but does need a fair bit of TLC for us to rate it any higher.
Noisy - very loud floor boards which woke us when other guests used the bathroom next to our room in night and early morning.
Facilities - plug for TV was high up and off on arrival, we had to climb up on a table to turn it on. kettle lid was loose and dangerous to use, inside of kettle was brown and filter worn, no mugs on first night to make tea, much needed after a 5 hour drive, mirrors too high, couldn't see in them without standing on something, lack of table surface, suggest removing large armchair and puffet and putting a small table with a mirror. Chain on door was installed upside down making it unusable. Linen on beds was creased, sheet on one bed was inside out, couldn't have blinds open to let in natural light as could see into room from car park (maybe frost out the window so blinds can be left open during the day). No working hallway light so had to use our phones to walk back to our room and open our door at night. Lots of small fixes could make this a much better stay as location is great and has a lot of potential.
